I don't think all the features for the EU are available yet so you'll have to wait for greddy to get off there butt and finish it. The utec is not released yet. I would wait and see what happens with it 1st.

I know they already did a thread. Nobody really did a comparison with actual functions between the both of them. Thats why I asked again. The Utec is out now for sale to the puplic. Price EU and recommended patch harness, The EU and utec is very close to price. The EU seems to be a little on the complicated side and not to be user friendly, everyone should one day tune yourself, I feel that is the point of this hobby. The Utec- is that a dos program or something simular? I have enough money for either one, Im adding 550cc injectors, AAM return fuel. My goal 400-450rwhp on stock internals. I have seen it done on numerious occasions. I see the rule of thumb 30-50% of horse power on stock internals. With proper tuning< I would think it is possible.

Im trying to get a true pro/con comparison of functions and not opinions. I am doing that myself, but also for other people to see. Once I get the homework done I will post. Just wanted to see if someone has already.

Whoops- sorry about the xtra unnessesary thread, I guess I was wanting it to be a bold and to the point situation- but it is not. I read through just about every thread and most of my questiones have been answered. How can you erase a thread topic, if is not needed?

Stock HP is 300 at the crank not the wheels, 400RWHP is already over your 50% rule of thumb

Scin- stock bhp at the crank is 287 advertised by nissan approx. 277 to 297 +- 10hp perticular to vehicle specifications. Now you multiply 50% which is 0.50 by 287 you get 143.5. Ok, you add 287 to 143.5 and your grand total of 430.5 bhp which at the the wheels w/ proper clutch should give you a para. lost of approx. 30hp through the drivetrain to give you 400whp. Come to find out so far with proper tuning, I see these engines getting 500bhp at the crank no problem. Just awaiting the longivity. Thank you D350Z10 for info. I wanted to mention the fact it is made specifically for the z and it is plug and play. That does make things a little nicer. I am going to try out the Utec. I will keep in touch on the progress. I just joined the forum and w/ little time, I will have post some pics, dyno charts, and info.

Sleeper, the UTEC's are not readily shipping yet. A few shops are testing them, but the public doesnt have access to them just yet. Should be another couple of weeks or so.

Until people start tuning with, and really testing the UTEC, it is hard to make a practical hands on comparison of the two platforms. I think you can get excellent results from both. The UTEC has some features, such as launch control, rev limit increase, and timing set, that are currently not enabled on the EU. But at this point, until people have activily tuned and tested...is going to be hard to make a meaningful comparison of the two platforms. Some people like the GUI on the EU, and others like the simple and straightforward approach of the UTEC's hypertext based interface.
