Default Getting APS ST installed....

I got the APS ST.

Live in Western Canada.

Should I trailer the car to GRD to get the kit installed? GRD is gonna be a 22-24 hour drive. Plus I will have to stay in a hotel for about a week.

or...

there is a new APS dealer 3 hours south of where I live. Should I go to them?

Any and all opinions are welcome...thanks!

I would love to say trailer it to GRD.....they are great folks.....but that is a haul.

I was at GRD getting some Amsoil(oil change) this past week-end, and I we were talking about the number of kits in Canada. I thought heard them say that there is an APS authorized tuner/dealer in Canada.......

I might check to see if the dealer 3hrs away from you is authorized....if he is, it would really save some time and cash........good luck!

BTW....good selection on your turbo!!

Yeah, i think the dealer close to me is authorized because they are listed on the APS website. It's just that its seems there are some minor problems with their ST kit and GRD knows how to care them...plus they have excellent experience in tuning the cars.

The recently authorized dealer here in Canada probably doesnt know all of this and I may end up with problems.....although I would save a lot of money.....maybe just in the short run though!

If the dealer is authorized, it means he has the connections/relationship with the manufacturer to get any questions answered or needed supplies......I would take it to the local tuner.....this person has the responsibility to do it properly.....I would let the tuner know of your concerns and insist that the job be "done right".

You should not have to sacrifice(22hrs)....

cheers!

Jonezzz, are you running it on stock 5AT or did you upgrade anything on it or reset the rev limit? How is the tranny holding up?

Yeah, the guys at GRD will share their info with your local shop, I'm sure. All the APS dealers communicate with each other and know each other. You want to use a closer shop cause you'll probably end up going back there to get more stuff done and about once a year or so you'll want to get it tuned.
