Stock tires now (rainy season) drag radials after rain stops. 245 DR on the stock wheels. I am trying to keep my car a sleeper.

 

If you want to keep it simple, headers and exhaust. If you don't care about your car being louder you can also spring for some high flow cats or test pipes. I would also suggest a new plenum or spacer. Pretty much all of the bolt-ons compliment the Vortech.

 

werd... loss of traction is dependent on how hard you launch and/or how much gas is applied. I have no problem breaking the rear end loose from a roll in 1st or 2nd just by laying on the throttle. Of course, like louZer, I'm pushing higher 300s for torque.

Oh, and since everyone else is throwing mileage figures out, I'm up to 27K miles with the Vortech installed. No major issues.

 

definitely go with a lightweight flywheel, great mod whether you are FI or NA. If you plan to push the power to the 400rwhp range, you probably should do a clutch upgrade at the same time.

 

Besides getting DR tires, is there any other way to get better traction as I like most of you cannot seem to get great take offs unless I feather the throttle, I am putting down 415rwhp and 320 of torque but cannot get the most use of the power
Would wider tires and a coilover system help?

 

what type and size tires are you running?

 

245/35/19 up front and 265/35/19 on the rear, tires are Michelin sports.

 

do i need to upgrade the fuel at all?

 

You should use at least 91 octane.

 

Is that what you meant? If you are asking about the fuel system, the Vortech kit comes with everything you need.

 

yeah you need wider tires, probably wider wheels too actually if you want solid traction

It comes with all the stuff you need if you run it out of the box. If you do pulley upgrades or have lots of other mods, it's advisable to upgrade your fuel delivery system.

If you do not, you'll wind up like me... pushing lots of power, but running very high fuel pressure and over taxing the stock injectors. My next round of mods will be a return type fuel system and bigger injectors.

 

will i be maxin out the fuel system if i run it straight out of the box?

 

not with the stock pulley. with an upgraded pulley you run the risk of running the injectors at %100 duty, though it even seems that a lot of people have been able to run the upgraded pulley without needed larger injectors.

 

I am running 360cc injectors and a walbro fuel pump on my N/A Z at the moment, I plan to buy a Vortech kit very soon, if I upgrade the pulley will I need bigger injectors and a different fuel setup? What fuel system comes with the kit, will I need to install it already having an upgraded fuel pump and bigger injectors?

 

hard to say, but you probably will need 440's. It depends on what other NA mods you have.

When was NA, I had around 285whp with cams and everything. I added the vortech with 3.12 pulley and need 550 injectors to maintain 460ish whp

 

You will be better off with our tuner kit...no fuel or engine management (less money!). Then get a computer flash from somewhere like Technosquare. SInce you already have bigger injectors and pump.

 

Vortech, a great mod but I wish I got the turbonetics single turbo.
