I got Ted@SP's custom Ferrari-type exhaust (yah, it does sound like an F355), but that thing is ridiculously loud, even with mufflers on each pipe. I could tolerate it with the stock cats, but with straight pipes (plus cams) it SCREAMS. I mean, you could hear me coming 3 blocks away if I gas it.

The sound is absolutely sick, just like an exotic, but I need a way to adjust the loudness DOWN about 3 notches. I'll get a video up in a few days so you guys can see/hear.

On a side note, its kinda funny how the fast cars are the ones that DONT want the super-loud exhausts while the 16 second civics can't live w/out em.

Can't see it cause its not mass-produced and I don't have a "dismounted" picture. My exhaust tips are stock. It's basically 2.5" in diameter, just like the Borla TD but this one goes literally STRAIGHT back from the cats, with almost no twisting/turning unlike the Borla TD (which I had and sold). The Borla TD was a kitty compared to this one.

And yes, it is LOUD.

I was there today getting my unichip tuned and dyno'd. An LS roadster pulled up and had the straight tips down the center like Ted's. His was loud as well...

How loud is it during freeway/city driving? I know what WOT sounds like but not the "normal" speed/revs....

 

Uhm, take WOT... and tone it down like 1-2 notches... thats how city driving sounds like. Everytime you gas it up more than 50% throttle, it goes insane lol.

When I take off from 1st and gear up to 45mph, it sounds like I'm racing someone unless I baby it.. hah.

I'm still debating on whether to get it or not. My Z is a daily driver so I don't know if I can handle the sound all the time..... Just turning the ignition with the SP exhaust is a head turner for sure....

Don't mean to jack your thread... but do you feel a diff form the Borla?

 

I love the sound...=) I debating on going 3 inch instead of 2.5 and see if the power goes up...=)

i saw that exhaust the other day at the shop. It is good to have that one ONLY if you have Turbo to back you up. Non FI car with that loud sound just like you said "16 second civics can't live w/out"

What makes this exhaust "ferrari type"?

BTW: Great sound, but higher revving and sound recording takeoff from the rear would have been best.

 

What makes it "ferrari type" is the fact that it was designed by someone who has experience with the aerodynamics of Ferrari exhausts. He was actually trained in this, and thus was able to design one that has many similar qualities, performance and soundwise.

And yeah, this is all I was able to put together. It was enough pain to get my roommate to hold the camera in the 1st place.
