Default car shut off while driving today...

this is the second time now that my car has just turned of while i have been driving. it always happens when i have my foot on the clutch and when the gas tank is low on gas. I think this might be the problem but am not sure. cause the the car occasionally doesnt start when the tank is near empty like the light had just com on on the first try. has anyone else had this problem or kno what is goin on or how to fix it?

Thanks, Kurt

There are posts of recall on early 03 Zs for bad sensors causing the cars to just shut off while driving mostly when going into neutral which would require foot on the clutch like you said. Take a look in repairs section.

seems to be an issue with some guys running certain type return fuel systems and not being able to scavange all the fuel from the tank.

Yes, there is a recall for 2003 Z's for the crank position sensor.
Deffect
"On certain passenger vehicles, the circuit board for the crank position sensor may have an improper solder joint to to solder deformation caused by heat stress accelerated by the existence of flux residue during the soldering process."
Consequence
"This could cause the "service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash."
This seems to be the problem you are having and if you take your car into the dealer, they will replace your crank position sensors and your problem should be fixed.

Kevin, do you have the most recent siphon correction kit for the AAM fuel system?

So are you saying that the car starts and runs perfectly without stalling, as long as there is more than 1/4 tank or so?

Unless you have the original PE fuel system modified (at the tank), this is what you are going to have. It's what Sharif is mentioning as well.
