Default What's the limit for Walbro 255?

Can anyone give me advise on the fuel system?
I have the CJ stage two with one walbro 255 and 750cc injectors.
My question is, what is the limit for the walbro? up to now is holding psi all the way to 626whp but I'm afraid to be the first one to test the limit. Another concern is if it is holding psi after long rides when is hot.
I dont like inline pumps, do I have another alternative other than a SARD tiwn fuel pump surge tank?
Ones I take care of the fuel issue I'll let you know the limit of the oem sleeves jaja!!

The walbro should still be a good way from maxing out. I'm pretty sure they can flow for over 800whp.

I know some of the guys around here are working on twin pump systems just for the g35/350z. I think you can get a hanger made for 2 or 3 pump setups but its CNC so its not cheap and it might not fit in the tank.

I am very interested in the new fuel systems coming out, "hint" "hint" CJ, SSR, etc.

I think I read that Charles from CJM has a twin pump fuel system. I could be wrong.

CJs twin pump is not due out until they release their intake manifold.

You are already beyond the standard limits of the walbro 255... Since you have the Stage 2, you are going to get the absolute most out of that pump... but I am not sure how much longer it will hang in there.

Are you in immediate need of a twin pump system? I could finish this up pretty quick I think but I really am worried about having customers test it rather then me.

Charles when will your new intake manifold be released?

as soon as we stop finding ways to make it nicer... in the next 2 weeks I believe we will start sending out a couple test units... and then there are a couple guys that are so anxious for it that I think they are going to take one before the test cars are even running it. We plan to sponsor the forum with the release of the manifold and post up all the information/pics/pricing... and if I don't get too anxious then I will have the test results at that time.

On Topic: Another factory fuel pump assembly will bolt in on the passenger side. To do this you just need to bend the opposite side's siphon pipe down onto the floor of the tank and then you can put in the OEM pump assembly on the driver side.

When you do this, you will need to swap the little chip out of the stock driver side fuel sending unit and put it into the fuel sending unit attached to your now secondary fuel pump assembly. This is because the output readings are different, so if you didnt swap it then your fuel gauge calibration would be all messed up.

Your next difficult task will be wiring this pump to work... if you want to try this I have some OEM fuel pump connector housings and terminals and water seals... I bought a stock of them when I was playing with the idea of using another OEM unit (with walbro swapped in, of course) on that side of the tank. I can send you a connector to help you with this.

This setup will work... however it wil not work like stock. I would only recommend running it when the tank is full or almost full. You would also want to fashion a siphon tube to run to the other side of the tank just to help keep the two sides more level for at least a little longer, but with this setup they will run uneven rather quickly and that is dangerous if you dont keep the tank topped off, but its something you could do for a temporary use.

Your surge tank idea is the better idea if I may say so myself.

Charles we have talked about this before, I know that you told me that it was going to be a while because of winter. I've been waiting for your twin setup for a while and you know that I'm more than willing to test it out for you (no winter in PR).
Thanks for the help using the driver side as an option but just like you, I don't think is a good idea. We either go with the surge tank or a custom twin setup in the passenger side.
My car is only running a max of 15 lbs because I don't trust one walbro. If I get a twin setup I will definitetly test the sleeves with 20+lbs & n2o
Tell me what you need to get this going and I will be your test mule in PR

I'm with you.

I'll be testing the limit again this week as I'll try to get 650whp. I'll keep an eye on the fuel psi as I reach 7K rpm.
