Default My Dyno results w/ T-netics.

Ok so I finally got my injectors, fuel return, wideband, and new rear tires(ps2's) put in by my loving and caring shop Ultmate performance and it has been nothing but perfect. This shop has done everything on my car since the engine build, and i have to say i am very happy with the results. My peak hp on the dyno was 462rwhp and 459tq not sure the psi but when tuned and set at 15psi to be safe it produced 447rwhp and 456tq. Looks like Im going to have to upgrade this turbo inorder to break into the 500whp mark but that is not even a thing I am thinking about at this point this thing is a MONSTER unfortunately i dont take it out very often now that the snow season has started. I can honestly say this is the fastest car I have ever been in/driven in my life. I will say i was hoping for more rwhp out of this turbo.

WoW! good number you got there. I'm going toward your route right now. I'm getting all the parts one by one to get ready for the build block. So far I've got 440cc,CJM fuel return system, and JWT s1 cams + valve spring+shim. The next thing is the Utec. Hope to get somewhere close to your number. Congrat bro.

Very nice numbers, but for the money you put into it I was hoping to see more. Hard to believe it's only putting down 447whp at 15psi. Not saying that's weak by any means, but people are doing this on the stock motor with TTs.

It doesn't look like you have cams. I'm wondering if you could push it closer to 500whp with the JWT's.

haha thanks guys, honestly I was really disappointed when i found out i couldnt break into the 500's with all the money spent on this setup, we shall see how turbonetics stage 2 kit ends up and performs before i decide to upgrade this turbo.

You should PM Mia and ask what turbo TN will use in the stage II kit.

me too, for all that money spent, built motor...ect. Should have got TT kit if you wanted 500-600hp. Biggest # ive seen on a single turbo

I agree that the stock turbonetics kit isn't adequate for that kind of power, but it is very easy to swap in a larger turbo for higher boost applications. Soon turbonetics will be providing a solution for just that. One good thing about this kit and its selection of turbo placement is that it's relatively easy to upgrade.

Maybe you went with too low of a compression? What was the compression on AAM's build up when they hit 470whp-520ft/lbs @ 14psi? Im sure MIA knows....

Nice to see you got your car back, and 440+whp is by no means weak, but like others have said, I am dissapointed with those numbers. You really should have thrown a set of cams in when you had the motor apart....

I know there is a guy on here with a UTEC I believe, saying he is hitting close to 450whp/tq at under 10psi on the stock block with this kit. I guess you have a very safe tune?

True, but that guy was at stock compression and had cams, I think. When the time comes to build my motor, I was thinking of going with some 9.0:1 pistons as I have no intention of pushing for 700+whp or sleeving the block.

Still, I would think you could get a little closer to 500whp with this turbo.

I agree if I built a block nothing under 9:1. Seems his compression really lowered his hp/psi compared to stock block Z's.

what psi does the 60-1 run out of its eff range? you should be able to squeeze more than 15 out of it. its gotta be the CR. or like somebody else posted put a 62-1 in there instead. good results tho, it know it must feel pretty good. im getting used to my APS single now, of course, once you hit 17psi a lot, 10 doesnt feel as fast anymore. im looking at building a motor, the GT35R that comes with the kit should be able to flow 35+psi, dont know about this 3.5L VQ motor, but if its anywhere near there it should break 500.

On the dyno the 60-1 seems to run out of steem past 460rwhp. The PSI is more irrelevant and is dependant on back pressure (ie. what exhaust you have and several other factors).

Many turbos can sustain high boost but on larger engines (like the VQ) do not have the volume necessary to maintain high horsepower.

Hope this helps,

The Modified Mag car IIRC is at 8.5:1 CR. It was making those numbers on 14 PSI of boost tuned. Whats your AFR? The 60-1 can push more boost (up to 20 PSI) but I think it starts leaving its efficiency range after 15 PSI. The numbers certainly aren't bad though. If you are running to rich you may want to dial some timing back in to the motor. Its amazing what a few degrees of advance will get you when you are boosted. As for the Stage II turbo its looking like its going to be a T66 turbo.

Mike brings up a good point. If you drop the exhaust do you get any more power?
