Talking Engine Rebuild for Greddy TT

Alright,

I have started the long laborious process of building a new engine for my ride.
Parts have been ordered and the block is getting cleaned, redecked and all that other jazz.

I thought I might throw my build details out there for you guys, if anyone is interested:

JE Pistons w/ wrist pin upgrade
Pauter Rods
ARP Main & Head Studs
Cometic Head Gasket
Darton MID Sleves
Ferrea Valve train
JWT Cams
1000cc Injectors
Upgraded Fuel system
F-Con Pro EMS

The engine will be sent off for cryo treating and then key parts will be sent off to be heat treated. Dave is documenting the process now.

This setup in conjunction with the new exhaust and EMS should give me plenty of power and hopefully a relatively decent lifespan on the boosted engine. We are thinking to upgrade the turbos if we see that they are pushing their upper limits around 15 -20psi

Hopefully by March I should be rocking a whole new ride and then it will be time for a new LSD and axle.....

Good luck on your adventure! My motor is being built as we speak. I saw it today with the 18 G turbo's mounted... it looks so awesome... I don't know how bigger turbo's would fit... the 18 G is so close the the engine mount!

Kyle is right, those are the ones I have.

As for the turbos, the first step I believe, would be just to change the wheels /compression ratios.

Thanks for posting your info and good luck with the build. Very impressive!

Did you pull your existing engine or buy another block for the build?

Basically doing a core swap when this is complete. We are using the shops engine to build my new one, and they will take my current engine when we are done.

Thanks for the info. Do you know how much they usually run for?

RoyalT: I paid over 1,000 for mine.

chuquison: Short or long block..? I would say it could very between $2,000 - 3,000 but as I am not buying the blocks just swapping, I am not sure.

I would suggest contacting one of the many sellers/installers on here like AAM, CPRacing, Forged Internals, SGP or Performance depending on your location.
I am sure they will all do you right on pricing.

Just a bare block w/o the crank NEW from Nissan is ~$1300

Then a brand New crank = ~$550

Nice setup. Those 1000cc RC low impedence injectors will work nicely with the FCON.
