What mod to do next after TN install
First of all, I am still awaiting my ecu to complete my install, no worries, should have it Thurseday or Friday. Next, I am considering either a custom 3" exhaust, but turbonetics informed that may cause the boost to raise too high for the standard reflash, I also considered the motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer, Turbonetics said no real issues there, what is everyone's feedback? what are some realistic horsepower gains? I do plan to purchase the utec in a few months, but what about mods before utec? Any advice will be great. On a seperate note, I will get the car dynoed later next week, but the numbers will be real low, because of the dyno they use, you can check it out at www.dyno4mance.com, to see the dyno and some pretty cool videos, under the toyota section is my old 4runner, check out how low the numbers were, that truck did a 9.6 in a 1/8 mile at 77 mph, I think it had a little more than 228.3 hp, personally
Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer is a great mod...I have it on my car and definitely felt a difference in the mid-range as far as power...no good dynos yet though. Hopefully soon.
I put the spacer and the Fuji exhaust on mine. TN claims their reflash is good (they tested) until 9.5psi. Out of the box your probably right at 8psi. After my plenum spacer, kinetix plenum, fujisubo exhaust, and lightweight crank pulley...it only raised my boost to 9psi. You should be fine. My boost contoller goes in this weekend and I may raise it the other .5
BTW IMHO I would get the exhaust before you get the EU or UTEC so you dont have to tune it twice.

Yes its a single canister. I have seen it in person. Honestly the pics online dont do it justice, judging from the pics I thought the canister was too small, but its not. I got mine from Steve @ Evolution for a great price. I can take pics if you want, but it wont be on the car till hopefully Saturday when I might be finishing the install of my kit...caution though, I have heard it is LOUD. I got the non-resonated version

Is there any difference, performance wise, between your new 3" single exhaust and making your old dual exhaust work with the ST?

It was just time for a change, and I wanted a Ti exhaust...
Im looking forward to seeing your setup and track times.

Is this what you guys call 2.25" piping? This is my pic I took of an injen I pulled off a guys car. It is maybe 1 7/8" OD piping. VERY SMALL

In regards to this thread, I would go with the plenum mod. And do the exhaust when you get a tunable EMS.

Well I believe the outside diameter is 2.25" - at least thats what Injen claims. Regardless, this exhaust has been proven to not be a restriction up to about 450whp like I stated. The guy running this exhaust had dyno numbers and trap speeds as good or better than others running true 2.5" exhausts, take it for what its worth.

I am not making any claims on the flow of the exhaust. I just thought the piping looked very small when I pulled the exhaust off, so I asked the owner what it was and he responded 2.25" piping. I just pulled out the tape measure and was blown away at what I saw, so I had to take a pic
