Default Vortech with removed belt truly stock?

Hey guys,
I'm about to make a 1000+ mile trip. I was wondering if I take off my supercharger belt on my vortech if it is truly running the same as the normal NA engine minus the extra load on the engine belt. I know the supercharger isn't running, but does the FMU and fuel pump only work while in boost? Also, will the fuel management be truly the same if I leave the SS hooked up? Please help me out, I would like to make this trip with putting as little wear on the car as possible. Thanks

You will be fine. I ran my car like that when I had a problem with the blower.

You may want to disconnect the IC pipe before the MAF sensor . The connection that turns downward . Put a piece foam filter over the pipe . The car will breath much better . Also , reset the ECU before and after the trip

Be sure to disconnect the fuse to the aux fuel pump (in the battery compartment). Also, if you don't disconnect the IC pipe as above, the engine will be sucking some unfiltered air backwards through the BOV. I've got a length of hose and K&N filter on the outlet for noise reduction--this actually eliminates the problem of unfiltered air.

hmmm, think I could just cover the BOV with a couple layers of fabric so I dont suck anything in?

Yes disconnect the fuze as gersteinp suggests . If you don't disconnect the IC pipe like I suggested , The car will have a hard time breathing and you'll get chitty mpg and run rich . It would have to such air though the small opening in the BOV and though the IC and all the pipes .
It really easy to do . Just loosen the clamp on the IC pipe right behind the blower . Pull up on the pipe and disconnect it there . Loosen the clamp on the IC pipe where it connects to the MAF housing . Turn the IC pipe to the side and put a piece of foam filter over the end of the IC pipe .Tighten up the clamp on the MAF housing.

i took a 3400 mile trip with my ati set up once. i was getting around 1 mpg better mileage without the blower hooked up. i would just leave it hooked up. mine was connected the whole way there, then blew the belt off and had to fashion an air cleaner and redo my intake pipes on the fly to get back home. i was going alot faster on the way there also, which could contribute to loosing the 1mpg. yes, the fmu will only operate when in boost. no need to disconnect anything there.

I dont know how the ATI is set up , but with the Vortech the BOV is open all the time under vacuum . And if he did nothing but take off the cog belt , he would be sucking in unfiltered air . Like I said , The motor will not breath very well sucking air though the BOV and and the blower then though the IC . WHy fowl the plugs and make it run chitty if it only takes 10 minutes to do what I suggested ??

And the deal with aux. fuel pump fuze . Seems like every one has reported that the setting to turn on the aux. pump is different . If it set to come on at 1500rpm [ or ] or [ and ] a set psi . Makes a diff. My pump [stock vortech setting ] was set to come on at 1500rpm ....[ and ] a negitive psi . So it just came on every time I went to 1500rpm . Basicly on all the time. I changed it to come on at 3000rpm [AND ] 2psi .

ya, not sure exactly how the vortech fmu is set up, but the ati (areomotive) fmu would only come on under boost. i definately agree to undo the intake piping if he is doing this. my biggest question though, is why unhook it in the first place and enjoy a s/c'ed car for the 1000 mile journey, lol.
