Default who got the latest issue of SPEED with the 510hp G35?

wow that car didn't do very well at all against the Z06 and M400
shame that the owner in his $130k budget for the car couldn't get some decently wide and better tires...

I have it, it is a comparision between three cars, a Noble, a G35 from HI that the guy dumped a ton of money into, and some other car maybe Vette. BTW, it is the last issue of SPEED.

it's the classic case of built engine, greddy TT kit, 510 hp, 275 toyo RA1 tires, 12.9 sec quarter mile and 5 sec 0-60 times, .92 lateral G, not so great slalom speeds, and gets slaughtered by the other two cars. Absolutely no traction. Really lame

What did you think of how much money the guy said he had in it? Seemed awful high.

You seem to have a thing about slamming hp TT cars. What you say is true about traction, but just remember that not everyone builds their cars to go to 1/4 or autocross tracks. I have yet to step foot on any track, but when I take my car out on the highway I can rip most anything a new a$$hole. It's cool that you have different goals, but not everyone has your same goal.

who was driving the cars - owner or hired gun from the mag. ra1's are pretty damn sticky - they're the spec race tire for spec miata (my series) and many others. 275's are decently sized, although sure, could use more. i'd guess however this was a matter of less than precise throttle control. if its a for-real 510whp, that should be better than 5 sec 0-60 and 12.9 1/4.

it should def be closer to high 3's-low 4's..... 510 is alot....... the bmw m3 is 333 at the crank and it goes 4.7 or 4.3 i think..... but do the math, thats a difference of almost 200 horses..... do the math...... those are embarrasing times.......

Also I can't believe the $130K budget. Top Secret's G35 didn't cost that much and that thing is an animal.

well whatever. What do you think of the article then? Is that G35 awesome or something? Yeah yeah highway monster - great for it.

I only slam a car if it can't make use of what it has in which this car is one of those cases. I consider it a design flaw/oversight of the modder. My own personal car goals are different than most on this site, yeah. But I'd LMAO at any car that costs that much money and performs that bad

the article had a little write up on the driver. He is a hired pro driver. I don't remember his name

I spent a lot of money on my car, but not anywhere near $130K. My car performs well for how I use. I drive 60 miles a day mostly highway so I get full use of my set up. You should have seen the look on the guy's face riding a
GSX-R when I put a major *** whooping on him. He definately did not expect that.

Glad you decided to keep you car...I've see many of those looks on bike riders faces when I keep up or pull from them...that alone is worth what I've done to the car..

that's awesome, you must have a nice car

why are you acting like I'm slamming your car or G35's everywhere?

The car in the article despite all the custom work it's had done, is pretty weak if he chooses 245 and 275 tires which are maybe a good tire size choice for a NA G. I can't think of any car in it's hp range that sports a 275 rear tire on a FR car that weighs as much as the G35 does. Even the 475hp shelby GT500 mustang cobra has a 285 rear tire. If it was a drag radial or slick or something, then 275 would probably be fine

Sentry65,

I don't think you are slamming my car, it just seems like you slam high hp TT owners for wasting their money. I understand your goals, and your choice for mods probably works best for you. I just wanted to point out that lots of people that mod their cars (like me) never step foot on any type of track. I built my car for me to enjoy and enjoyment is exactly what I get when I suprise people. Yes from a dead stop my car is pretty useless, but I never race that way. I wasn't trying to start a flame war, I just wanted you to see where I am coming from. Could I have achieved my goals, with much less headaches, by buying a faster car from the factory? Yes, but I am a mod addict, and having the same fast car that hundreds and thousands of other people have is just not as exciting to me. Espcially when people know that car is supposed to be fast.

Thanks I am glad too. I really miss it.

Yeah it's pretty funny. I've done it a few times, but the riders I've encountered have been pretty cool and gave me a thumbs up afterwards.

I'm just asking if anyone read that article and if anyone has any feedback. I'm tired of flame wars

there really is no car you can put against a noble and expect it to come too close to it. the noble takes out the enzo and murcielago in acceleration and cornering. so take note, if you have $130k to put into a car, buy a noble!! hahaha. (i am praying that will be my next car)
i didn't read the article but it sounds as though the g35 could have done better.
