Default intercooler question

hey guys,i have a buddy who is getting a stillen sc.he wants to go with the stage 1 set up which does not have the ic,i have been trying to tell him get the stage 2 set up w/ic.if he still refuses to get stage 2 what problems or damage could it do,he says im saving $1450.00 + labor ill put that into something else,let me know so i can kick him upside his head,thanks.

overheating.............less power due to extra heat


only an idiot would go F/I without a FMIC.........go slap your friend in the face and get on this site so we can get him on the right track

If you are going to do it, do it right the first time. He will put a IC in later once the temperatures start getting hotter and he losses all of his power and overheats his engine.

It will do no harm at all. It just will not allow him to increase boost due to inability to lower inlet air temp.

A guy here on our forums had Stage 1 with no I/C - he commented that he lost power noticeably when it got hot - just looked up his e-mail now

One thing that was a problem with my supercharger was that I didn't have the intercooler fitted so when the car got warm performance tended to drop of a bit, quite noticeably

Yeah. Don't really see the point of F/I without FMIC. If you're taking it to that level, what's another $1500 for much better performance?
