But this impressive trq curve is not a result of the cams, or any other mod. It's a result of these smaller fast spooling turbo chargers. I have never seen any turbo VQ35 make 300ftlbs at 2000rpm, and that is undisputed. The Greddy and cars usually make about 300ft/lbs at 3000rpm.

my car makes 300 tq at 2250 rpms and about 365 tq at 3000 rpms with my tq maxing out at 480 tq at just over 4000 rpms. I think we will see basically the same numbers on the JWT as the APS considering they basically use the same turbos

Dyno chart? The APS turbos are GT28xx and flow much more air than than the standard GT28, so the APS turbos should spool slower. If you take a look at the Road&Track comparo, the JWT kit produced more trq down low, when compared to all the other kits.

Nice to see a person that looks at the details and is more than willing to talk about each kit on its merits without getting their ego in the way.

My appologies if you already mentioned it, but what type of engine management system are they tuning the engine with?

They use Split Second.

Still drivin it ... Still lovin it!!!

I was at a Drag Event at California Speedway yesterday and got to see an APS and a Greddy kit. It's amazing to see how much different each kit is (of coarse I'm talking about the way it looks under the hood).

I need to check that schedule more often.

Sharif,

Tuning on Split Second - For non-built low boost motors like Vision619, timing is mildly adressed for the FMU and larger fuel pump can supply what is needed to make a clean Air/Fuel ratio. The out of the box JWT kits will be shipped with the programming without the need for change for the target power and reliability.

Obviously on the higher boost built motors, the injectors, fuel pump, FMU, and the piggy back have to work together making things a bit trickier. This sometimes gets interesting with Voltage as you and I have privately discussed.

Thanks.

Very interesting. I noticed they are used a single MAF inlet (suck through) style so the MAF sits before the turbo inlet. This is a proper setup for an OEM FI car, and thats great!

With this setup, its unlikely you will max out your MAF sensor, which means you can do some really safe tuning via MAF vs. using a pressure sensor. I am looking forward to seeing these kits up close and personal.

the difference is, with the JWT setup, it is before the the turbos. On a setup like the APS, it is located in the charge pipe.

My experiances with this on FWD sr20s is it will still max out and therefore have to switch to larger diam maf like cobramaf, lightning, 300zx for levels over 300

Well there are several of us running at those levels on a daily basis with no problems.

I understand what you are saying and agree with you. At lower boost levles, this seems to give an easy tuning situation using the stock maf. If it does max out, this gives one the option to upgrade to a larger diameter hosing like you stated.

That is the difference. TN is attempting to use the maf sensor in the charge pipe after the turbo, this is fine if you use a map sensor based ems like unichip or utec that can clamp the maf single. TN doesn't this type of ems
