Default Turbonetics Stage 1.5 new info and some more news from Turbonetics!!

So I was up at Turbonetics this last Friday discussing some things regarding the kit and discussing Stage 1.5. The skinny on stage 1.5 is there will be two ways to get it. First is if you have Stage 1 they will send you the upgraded parts. Second is to order it as a complete kit. If you have stage 1 already heres what you get:

550 cc injectors
User tuneable EMS system with the following features:
-user tuneable maps
-Multimap functionality (2 maps)
-A map selection switch to change between the two maps
-Closed loop boost control that can have to boost curves assigned to each tuning map to give you a high boost map and tune or low boost map and tune
-Bluetooth access to the EMS to apply real time correction changes are to monitor real time correction data
-Complete plug and play. No cutting, splicing, replacing of wiring. Complete plug and play harness to install
-High quality boost control solenoid
A fuel return setup including an external fuel pressure regulator and required hardware. The fuel return system is still in R&D so details are not complete for me to post but I will when it is

Now if you have Stage 1 you will get all of the above parts. However you could also order this as a complete kit. The complete kit would be:
Stage 1.5:
Turbonetics 60-1 Stage V ceramic ball bearing turbo
Turbonetics Evolution wastegate
Turbonetics Raptor BOV
Spearco front mount intercooler
550cc injectors
Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
Tuneable EMS
Fuel return system
All SS304 mandrel bent polished steel exhaust piping
All mandrel bent aluminum powder coated black chrome intake piping
All t-bolts on intake side
All V bands on exhaust side
All required hardware
Case of Turbonetics TS-1 oil
12,000 mile / 12 month warranty on the entire kit..

Power goals 400-450 RWHP but completely up to tuner and owner

For Stage II: Built motor required

T66 turbo
Newgen wastegate (tenative)
Turbonetics Raptor BOV
Spearco front mount intercooler
650 or 750cc injectors (tenative)
fuel return system
tuenable EMS
Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
All SS304 mandrel bent polished steel exhaust piping
All mandrel bent aluminum powder coated black chrome intake piping
All t-bolts on intake side
All V bands on exhaust side
All required hardware
Case of Turbonetics TS-1 oil
12,000 mile / 12 month warranty on the entire kit..

Power output: 550 RWHP but completely user tuneable

There is still the Stage 1 kit you can get which is the current kit as is...I don't have pricing on the Stage 1.5 upgrade or complete kit yet. I can tell you for the upgrade it will be comparible to what it would cost to purchase those items from the current market but of course a bit cheaper The complete Stage 1.5 kit I have no idea what pricing will be since they have not yet determined what its going to cost for the return setup... Stage II will be a bit more then Stage 1.5 due to the bigger injectors and completely custom compressor and housing for it. But anyways thats the scoop for now. Road and full dyno testing for Stage 1.5 should be starting in the next couple weeks. Turbonetics has someone working on this kit pretty steady as well as others working on other things so hopefully news will come soon...

Did you get an update on the progress of the updated wastegate piping due to the overboost problem?

No that guy who was working on that was not there. There was a G in the shop with a Topspeed exhaust installed though and I know they have been looking at it on that car but the person working on that was not there when I was...

Since I live in O'side, near you, I hope to get a ride in your car when stage II installed to revisit it after I drove it during the SZM turbo test.

if you have stI, and decide to go st1.5, what about the ECU reflash, do you have to send it back to get the stock flash reprogrammed, since the 1.5 comes with a seperate EMS, or do you just keep the reflashed ECU program.

That is being looked at now. They are going to install the EMS on my car with the flash and see what kind of results they get. If its too hard to tune then it will require the ECU sent back and flashed to stock but they think it will be fine with the flash already on it. This is actually something I think most would prefer since the current flash eliminates the advanced timing map and makes both the standard and advance map identical while keeping the bad gas map there. This should make it more consistent power wise...

Turbonetics has always planned to do Revup R&D in Feb. I posted that a while back...theres just so many other projects to finish that its tough to fit everything into the schedule. They already pushed back a couple of other things to do Stage 1.5, new wastegate setup, and Revup motor...

If you think you had a wait, think of all the guys like me that bought 03's and had to wait for the aftermarket to catch up.

Looking forward to this. I'm just hoping I don't have to end up throwing out my blitz sbc.

Naw you don't HAVE to use the closed loop boost control if you already have a controller...

The T66 that is going to come in the Stage II kit is going to be and application specific turbo. The compressor housing, wheels, and turbine section are going to be a custom setup from Turbonetics. They don't have any you can currently order as they are playing with compressor housings and wheel dynamics to see what works best in the current space resrtictions. Short answer: its not a standard T66. You will have to wait till Turbonetics finishes R&D on Stage II and then order that turbo..
