Sorry if this is mentioned someplace already but how is it people are getting this kit when the last I heard they were still trying to get a CARB number before they release it? Did I totally miss the thread that says this kit is now available? If so, did they get CARB approved?

This JWT TT kit IS still pending CARB certs. There are only two (so far) approved installers for this kit. One is us (VRT) of course, on the west coast, and now the other is Performance Motorsports on the east coast.

1G-350Z just to give you an idea add 12% to get dyno jet numbers. That was the difference on my car from one dyno to the other. The mustang is far better to tune with than the dyno jet. Good luck with the kit and happy boosting. Do you know what size injectors come with your kit?

The Jim Wolf Kit uses the stock injectors, mainly to secure his goal as being CARB approved. The only modifications to the fuel system is an in tank FMU, and a larger fuel pump. The timing is controlled by a spark box that pulls timing as the boost is increased. All the changes happen after the ECU, interupting the signal back to the engine. Its an external adjustment of the ECU, which effectively retains the factory driving experience. The kit is very well rounded, and performs very well, even in the current harsh driving conditions. I could post some results if anybody is interested...

Thanks,
Nick A.

I agree the Mustang is very conservative... After my spacer TP's and dual Exhaust upgrades, should break me into the the 410 range on a mustang dyno. I don't think a Dynojet will give me another 50 hp 460whp total... I'd like to believe that of course... But I don't think 460whp @ 6.8psi is possible...

Trust me @ the shop (PM) they were amazed how much power is being put down with a good exhaust system! Once they saw the potential they were sold...

so do you guys think the JWT is as competent as the APS as far as the fuel system? Do you think it can be a reliable driver? And to the guys that have it installed what kind of price range for the setup if you dont mind me asking?

also does PM have a website?

1. I spoke to Wolf on 1/17. Jim is providing some kits to one place on the west coast, another to the east coast as a dry run prior to getting CARB cert before selling them to the general public in mass. Think of it as limited amount to get feedback from installers and those customers - maybe Nissan should have done that with the 03 350Z and we could have had the pleasure of not having to get the streaks off our windows and not have tire feathering. The kits installed on the east coast will experience some cold weather thus further feedback.
2. There is one more test left to pass regarding CARB.
3. Interesting how some will complain he is not releasing the kit fast enough yet when a manufacture releases a product and it has a problem, other whine about it having to be fixed. The bottom line is you cant have it both ways.

The APS Fuel system and Unichip will take you to 450-500 whp mark...

The JWT TT uses stock injectors and a split second box (pulls timing) totally different... with 7.8 springs good exhaust 430-440whp might be possible... This kit is too new to figure out the stock limitations... My goals are to upgrad the fuel system, ad a new ecu/piggy back system... With a built bottom end

Short term goals TP's / Injen True Dual / Spacer and a Dyno to follow

With a proper fuel setup, yes it could be all of those things

Hey man. Congrats on the kit. I just got the same one. However I have JWT Cams. My car Dyno'd at 410HP (click the link in my sig to see the dyno sheet) on Jim's DynaPack.

I am however now considering a 3" straight through exhaust. I have the Cat Back Nismo which is rather restricting (the SuperCharger I had before liked the backpressure). However, the turbo's need to breathe. I was told HKS with resonated test pipes would not sound "Ricey" and also produce great results. Please keep us (or at least me) informed on the results of the Injen.

Again congrats man. I LOVE driving my car with this kit!!! You said in your first post "The car pulls instantly". I could not agree more. "Just say no" to turbo lag!

if you are looking at replacing the exhaust, look at the APS 2.5" duals with test pipes. With turbos, rasp is not an issue and you don't need to spend the extra money on resonated test pipes. This setup sounds awesome, and considering you had the nismo, you won't mind the stock style muffler. You should be able to get the combo of exhaust and test pipes for less than you would pay for the HKS exhaust alone. Quality is top notch and your turbos will thank you.

Just make sure you get a proper tune as opening up the exhaust can significantly change boost and AFR levels.

I just killed the Injen Idea.... I just ordered a custom 3"dual from AAM... My main reason for this, over other 3" systems it has big resonators which quiets it down a bit.... In the far future I will be putting a motor in... I thought the 3" dual would be a better investment... Keep in mind This exhaust is available from Sharif@ForgedInternals....
