Default open downpipe

hey guys, i was wondering how come no one runs open downpipe on our cars. my friend a a srt-4 and does and it sounds good. i heard it makes more power too. But maybe it sounds like **** on our cars.

also what mods can i do to a stock reflash to gain more power but not mess up the reflash or make it run like crap.

thanks guys

you could prolly get away with running no exhaust after the test pipes, but only if you were racing and trailering it to the track. open downpipes would send flames shooting against your firewall and possibly melt some wires.

Properly installed and routed dump tubes will have no chance of melting anything on your car. Boost stability is improved, and backpressure is significantly reduced on high boost cars, so they are a great upgrade for the high boost crowd. We'll be offering 3 inch downpipes, and dump tubes for the Greddy kits in about 2 more weeks.

i think he was referring to running the car with only the 6-7" downpipe right off the turbo. that would be a no no. it would be a flame show in the engine bay, lol. but true, properly routed you would be golden!

Ah yes...that would not be good. I can confirm the flame show effect, even when running test pipes, but no exhuast.
