Pauter rods, CP pistons. The tomei 268 cams seem to make the most power so far.

pauter rods, arias x-treme duty pistons, arp head and main bolts. i also heard fluidamper now is making a harmonic balancer for the vq35 and would be a good piece too. if you want to stay below 500rwhp, don't worry much about cams, but much over that and they will help. with the addition of the cams it will breath better on the top end so if you want to start really cranking up the boost, look at sleeving the block also. ofcourse head porting is a nice addition, as with bigger valves and springs. with those pieces in short block, the motor will be able to handle a ton of power though.

If you are looking for the absolute strongest internals, then Pauter and Arias Extreme Duty pistons are the way to go. They can support 1000whp+ easily.

For cams, there isnt an FI specific cam on the market yet, but people are having excellent results with JWT, and Tomei cams.

if your shooting for 700+whp, i would definately sleeve the block. i am running the nismo cams. i know a bunch of others are now available, but i havn't researched in a long time to give you a solid recommendation of what is available right now. i know custom grinds are now available, so talking with someone who can grind a set for ya to your requirements for an f/i application may be the first route to try. you need a cam with less overlap than what would be used in a n/a application.

What do people think about the eagle rods. I know there not as strong as say pauter or crower, but for 500-600whp, what do you think? And also, for that power level would sleeving the block be necessary?

Eagle rods are good for under 700 Rwhp and they are much lighter then the Pauters

For sleeves I recommend them for anyone looking for over 650 Rwhp.

And for the first question.... For 700+ I would do the Pauter Rods, CP Pistons, Darton Sleeves, ARP Hardware, Ferrera Valve Train, and Tomei Cams.

Fairlady,

I am not sure what others here think of the benefits, but in addition to Darton MID sleeves you might consider cryo treating the parts and even heat treating them as well.
I am going down the same road as you, and decided for some additional safety margin, I would do the cryo and heat-treating. Hopefully it will give that little bit of extra resistance to detonation and catastrophic failure under extreme conditions.
Not that I want to blow it up mind you, just push it on weekend race days.

Thanks guys for now im just looking for pistons, rods, ARP studs and cams to hold a little extra power and be on a safe side. I would rather just do it from one shot and get a SGP built motor but its a little expensive. Right now im doing research and will make my decision but im going to take my time i really want those tomei cams i heard they are sick. But will just have to wait. Thanks again.
