Go to www.sgpracing.com

Here's the link http://store.yahoo.com/sgpracing-store/sgpravqmo.html

They have the engine packages available. A "fully" built motor with all the goodies is roughly $15K installed. You could always spend more on heat treating and coatings. However, a fully built motor isn't necessary for most people. Most people can get away with just the short block (up to 500rwhp or so). Some will do the long block (up to 600rwhp). More than that and I would suggest just going all out and sleeving it.

haha!

A "fully" built motor with all the goodies is roughly $15K installed.
And after you add the TT kit, guages, exhuast, test pipes, clutch, etc. You're looking at almost $25K in parts and labor.

If you're talking about a loan, I wouldn't do it.

+1. The only type of loan I do for my mods and everything I buy is to pay with my credit card. Althgouh I pay the entire amount when I get my statement. Good way to earn free chit.

You guys are nuts!! There is no way that a fully built motor and all the stuff to go along with it would cost that much.
Faster than U PM me and I will help you with this. I am actually selling most of the stuff you need and you can get it all done for less than 15k. All it takes is some time and the right research!

First, you are going to have to define what you believe "fully" built means to you. You have to think a fully built motor to mean with everything. If you think you can fully build the motor for less then you should start your own racing team because some of those fools are spending in excess of $100K a year on motors. If you really want to have fun pricing built motors, try building up any M series car from BMW. Easily spend $25K on just the motor. I have priced and reasearch building the Z motor with tuners across the country and even trying to skip the tuner and go straight to the machine shops. Although you can save a little money going that route, I think SGP's markup is pretty fair. You aren't saving much getting parts from all over the place and there is much less headache doing it in one place as opposed to waiting for parts from everyone that had it a couple bucks cheaper. Also, you have someone to point the finger at if the build isn't right. Some of the convenience is built into that price and seems to be well worth it from the sheer volume of built motors coming out of SGP.

If you want to start jet-hot coating and cryo-treating or even go with a custom bore or stroker kit you are adding thousands to that. The point we're making is that you can easily spend just $15K on the motor alone without a turbo kit. It isn't necessary for everyone but he asked for fully built. Also, Gman is the foremost authority on how to spend money on a VQ. Take it from people who paid the cost. I haven't done it on a VQ yet but my VG had similar pricing.

All I am saying is that I built a motor that put 505 to the wheels, granted I had the TT kit already, but I only spent $11,000 and it was done right. Church Automotive was very impressed when I had it tuned. I think you guys are right that it depends on "fully built" but when you do it there should be no way that it should be $20,000 as long as you are looking for something in the neighborhood of 500 to the wheels. If you want to go that extra mile then sure you can spend $50,000 on it too. All I am saying is that you can get a TON out of your motor for less than 15k!
