Who is making over 450whp on the stock block?
What are you dyno'in? with what kit, and who did your tune?
I'm debating buying a Z again and I'd like to know where the limit of the motor are right now with good tuning.
Thanks

The vast majority of the 450+ whp stock block setups utilize the one of the tt setups. There are a handful (1 or 2) vortech guys past the 450 mark, and I have seen a few claims for some st's being past that point, but nothing substantiated yet...

the best advice anyone could give u is, be prepared to rebuild the engine if u go fi. so long as u already have the $$$ in the bank for it, its not going to surprise u as much. nothing hurts me more than seeing some poor guy blow his motor and have to sell his car cuz he cant afford to fix it.

Basically I'd like to see 450-500whp on the stock block.
Otherwise I'm gonna consider getting a used 03/04 Cobra instead of a Z.
So I would like to know if it's possible with liek a Greddy or APS Twin kit and the right tuning.

Exactly what he said, I have almost 22k on a stock block with 440whp or higher. So who knows what the limit is. I wish someone could find the culprit.

Even if you have to spend the money on a built block it is still better than a Cobra. I bought mine with a Greddy and the engine blew, so I parked it for almost a year and a half until I could do the engine right. I did and then I got in an accident. Needless to say now VRT is building my car and it will be a monster!! A Z you love is better than any other car. Sooooo much potential. Get the Z and wait until you can build it right. It is worth it, that is why I ended up with another.
ZcarGarage tuned mine, they are in San Jose. I've had 2 tunes. Well, technically 3 tunes. They gave me my car back with cats, apsTT and cams and it made 410whp/414wtrq, then they retuned it for Testpipes and 8.5 psi and i had 440whp/410wtrq in Jan. 05, then in Sept. 05 i started getting boost spikes to 11psi so i had them check out my tune and they were gonna test the APS tallboy for me. They put it on the dyno and it turned 488whp/450wtrq so they tuned it for 9.5psi and now it makes 462whp/445wtrq. When my motor finally gets here I will retune for 10.5psi and run the Motordyne plenum spacer and APS 3.5" downpipes and see what happens. I think she has about 50whp more left in her before i start getting into any problems.
Im debating tho, because I really need the 3.3 Final Drive and will need tires in about 2-5k miles depending on how the weather is. So, I may just wait for all that.

I am running around the 450whp mark and currently have over 86,000 miles on my stock motor with over 26,000 of those running over 400whp and the car runs better than ever... I will be re-tuning for more horsepower in the spring as I attempt to see what the limits are of this one.. :-)
