Default Just got home with TN kit in!

Just got in from the shop with the TN kit installed. First impression is the car is a lot different. Idles diff, vibrates diff, sounds diff, and most of all makes a lot more power. This was the shops first 350z install, but they have done a lot of other cars. They did a really good job (so far anyway), and i dyno it tommorow at 10am. My car w/ a pop charger made 233.8 whp, and im hoping for 350 with the kit. The car is bone stock except the kit. Just thought i would share. Here are a few pics of the kit in the car (looks like every other 1k TN kits in ) . BOV is probably the coolest sounding thing i have ever heard.
Few questions. When i come off the throttle, the wideband sometimes goes into the high 20's and even even just says 02 at times (only coming off throttle) Is that normal? So far under full boost it looks like 10.8 and staedy boost reading of 8 lb's. Big ups to Alberto and MIA for holding my hand!

Thing of beatuty... When you come off throttle you are going WAY rich when the BOV vents...probably just ECU over compensating timing to get you stoich again. As long as at idle you are at 14.7:1, under boost 11.5:1 or lower and part throttle between 11-13 you should be fine..Congrats!! Anytime you need help just let me know..

Kit was 4200 , guages/oil pan spacer/random crap was like 720 and the install was right at 1033.

At idle i am 14.8 - 15.1 consistantly. On boost it is ROCK solid at 10.8

damn you got it at a good price.. bit better than me.. I am going for the same thing.. all stock with TN kit =p. I think the flash is pretty reliable as long as you can verify that it works the first time so i am not even going to bother with a boost gauge and wideband for now.

when you let off the thorttle it is normal for it to go down to 20+.. it does not on all cars just about..

when you said it shakes different.. what do you mean? does it shake at idle really bad? also the most important question. was it worth the 6 grand?

It has a different shake when it starts, and idles normally when not choking (that scared me at first due to the diff sound). I noticed my installer walked by as if it was normal, so i took it for that. When it warmed up, it was good to go. It sounds a bit different under the hood (it was silent before). I don't think i would run it w/o a wideband/boost gauge. Even if it's just for reassurance so i can sleep at night. $700 isnt that bad when you factor in plugs and the pilar and gauges/turbo timer.

I have the wideband PLX, AVCR and HKS turbo timer but i jut don't want to mess with the cars wiring and have gaurages here and there anymore. i just want a all stock/clean looking car that can haul some ***.

what choking are you referring to? i heard the car acts like stock with the TN kit.. not true?

congrats and welcome to FI, i wish the turbonetics kit was out when i went FI, you'll enjoy the crap out of it, if you ever add a tunable kit you'll get a better tune and way more power,10.8 is pretty rich, 11.8 is a good place to be with a good tune. let us know the numbers when you get dyno'ed.

That is so awesome man Im very happy for you. Im sure you'll be driving around all night. When you let off the gas-in other words no load your WB will go unreadable lean-dont worry your motor is just an air pump @ that point its not dangerous. Your A/F is nice and safe and your idle A/F is perfect. Very happy for you Im glad you finally got it in. Any Q's feel free to hit me up. BTW your missing the horn on the BOV....

Bad news . The fuel pump that came with the kit went out as i was driving down the road. We put the Nissan one back in, and I will get a new one Tuesday. The guy told me i would be ok to do very light boost. I can't see how you guys can control boost..thing shot to 8 immediately with wot.
MIA : after the ordeal with the fuel pump and dealing with one of the guys there, i don't even know if it's worth the hassle with the horn.

wow that sucks but at WOT you will always hit full boost. The only way to not hit full boost is to not go WOT and just drive it a little harder than normal.

The car chokes when it's cold ( I say choke, its FI so it just ups the idle a bit to compensate until it warms up i assume). The kit is pretty nice, and the car opperates just like stock. It's just different due to no cats and what not. The guy that installed it said "you car is a lot more sturdy now". You'll see the vibration from the engine that you normally feel in the pedals has changed and what not.
EDIT: Just spoke to Brian at TN and he got a pump out to me today and will be here tom! I tried to send him some $$ but he said no . I think i just caught one of the guys on a bad day, or maybe i was uptight. Eitherway so far the service from these guys has been really good!

Huh the Walbro pump went out?! Thats pretty darn weird. I think thats first time I've heard of a Walbro pump of any kind failing out of box new. Of course you don't have to give them money. Covered by your no fault no hassle warranty. If you don't mind please PM me the persons name you initially spoke with about the problem..

i got my innovate from sharif at forged internals. here is a link to where you can purchase it. The install was very simple, I have tried 3 different wideband gauges and this one is my favorite by far. You cant datalot RPM with just the gauge but you can datalog the afr with the new logworks 2.0 now. To log RPM you will need the lm-1, lma-1 or the new unit that innovate has comming out in a few weeks. check out http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/forums/ for more information about the xd-1 and lc-1 which is what we are using.
