I'm in the same boat here. I have 19 inch wheels and cannot get DRs. At this point, I don't track the car enough to be worth buying new 18 inch wheels. I also like the bling factor of the 19s. . My plan is to get some rear camber arms and bring my rears under to .8-1 negative camber and just burn through my Falkens and buy some BFG KDWs. I just wish there were better alternatives for 19 inch wheels. Any more suggestions?

i have the KDWs, 275s, with a little neg camber, the best tire ive seen for the 19s are the PZero Corsas, assimetrico, or directionale. i think they come on the porsche TTs from the factory.

Do you know where they have them in 19s? I can only find 18 inch sizes on the net (it seems like all sites eventually point to tirerack). Id be interested if I could find these in the correct size. (285/35/19)

I also read that the turbos on the new Carrera Turbo will be Borg Warner units with variable pitch blades in the turbine. Suddenly just having a ball bearing turbos does not place you on top of the technological foodchain any more. So The APS guys can no longer be snobs to the Greddy users.

How important are gears in this situation? The 400awhp new Porsche, vs. a 400rwhp TT Z. Of course the porsche is AWD so its kind of taking a loss there, but would the porsche take it? And why dont more people do taller gears so they can stay in each one longer and get more MPH instead of having to shift constantly because of no traction or the short stock gears? To me gears seem really important, it even helps the N/A guys 1/4 times too right?

positive, new body style, says z06 on the side right, i know he were booth running, it looked like we were going slow, because we were with each other, but cars we pssed were a blur, guy gave me the thumbs up. The new 911 i can put the vid i got of me ttyin to punk him, it had new tags, said turbo, figured new 911.

There was one commet about someone saying FI people always complain and are never happy (not from you jet)
Well, read my post, I love everything about this car, i cant believe how i can just non-stop beat it up, and it runs fine, My car only goes back to the shop for little things like a oil change, brakes, but once i got my car tuned and got it back home, i just enjoy it. i notice i drive around for 3 hrs sometime, just to drive. I noticed there are alot of unhappy FI people on here, sorry to here that....Me, maybe i got lucky

Unfortunately, most of us will find out that power to weight isnt the only measure of which car will win the race. There is a big difference betweening OEM'ing a sports car to produce 400whp, and taking a factory car with 230whp and bumping it up to 400whp. Given this example, the OEM 400whp will win every time. Things like final drive ratios, gear ratios, traction, suspension, aerodynamics etc...give the OEM sports car a distinct advantage. For instance, a bone stone C6 Z06 runs the quarter mile IIRC at 11.5@ 128mph or something very close to this; despite "only" 420'ish whp. The 420whp Z's are usually running the quarter mile in the low 12's, and high 11's with trap speeds in the 115mph-119mph range.

Best of luck out there!

For the Pirelli Corsa tires a 295/30/19 would be the correct size for our cars. They have a 60 treadware rating. I am going to put on my set and see how they work for me. Corsa Directionalze for the front, and Assimetricos for the rear. They come in 19's.

I was reading the 997 TT has 502 ft-lbs @ 1950 RPM. That's insane to have that much torqyue down that low. WOW !!!

This car will kick our asses. ....and it has room for two in the back seats.

Somebody needs to lighten up.

I have read through this thread and have read C&D's review of the new 911. As much as I love the Z and its potential, it could never truely be compared to a TT 911.

Wouldn't it have been more appropriate to just state that rather than calling everyone in this thread "idiots"? If you're going to do that, at least be a man and do it here instead of on another board.

well hell, if you're that scared, just buy some pistons/rods and maybe a block guard....that should be plenty for a safe 550whp without sleeving the block....eh?

This thread is getting dumb, porsche 911 TT 06=$$$$$, If i had that much money to spend on a car, i would not be driving a Z...simple. Even if a porshce beats your 400+ Z, your not gonna get owned that bad, the porsh guy will probaly tell you got a hella of a fast car, then when he says whats done to the motor (because you just hung with him, or got beat by a length)...you say "its stock dude, except for my flowmasters"....just keep your face, watch the look on his face, priceless...guys drives off thinking i just spent $$$ to barely smoke a 350z??

The Porsche Turbo Cayenne uses a pair of twin ball bearing turbos as you'd expect from a company with a huge technical background in turbocharged engines.
