The Z owes so many styling cues to the Porsches, it is ridiculous.
I think that sometimes it is wiser to just step back, say "wow, nice car" and leave it alone instead of thinking of a way to destroy one by cramming more boost into your VQs. You guys talking about beating on Porsches and Ferraris with your TT Z's are starting to look like the kids with Civics with huge pipes and wings trying to brag about being so much faster then American muscle cars.
Besides, if you have that much $$ to burn on a car that you are in a market for one, get a Skyline Z-tune and be done with it. I really can't imagine someone being able to afford a 130G car, but not a 180G...
Or stick with the TT Z and be content with being able to beat "only" 99% of cars on the road.

My thoughts exactly!

it seems to me that gearing is the Z/Gs greatest enemy.
apparently these cars can produce 400+whp, relatively safely. thats 'enough' power to take care of most cars...but with mismatched gearing, it becomes a problem.

tires and suspension can be fixed.. but at the very least, the final drive needs to be adjusted..

Honestly I don't know why some guys don't employ the RaceLogic traction control system. It's mappable (is that a word??) so you can tune it just as you would an EM or UTEC.

It would be nice if we had SO MANY options for rear gear ratios like domestics and at an affordable price tag..

You are correct. The gearing in the Z and G MT does make it very challenging. Note: We are building a high horsepower car right now that is set for Germany - WOT at 180 MPH plus..... We are using gearing from the G35 AT in the MT 6 peed. The new gearing was a must. The car will make over 600 WHP and 700 FT/LB. Will keep you posted on the progress. we are building two of these beast. The one going to Germany and one will be my personal daily driver G35C. All good.

Yet, please take a look at our website, we do beat TT Porsches and New Z06s on the racetrack. No BS and No Lies...

Thats what i hear... those are going to be sick! I will put that BW variable pitch turbine on my SOHC d16 honda civic itll be like my second vtec!!!! lol

all kidding aside this will allow much faster spool and change in pitch for higher pulls in the top end... airplanes have been doin it for years not a space age technology just finally implemented.

True.... jet engines have variable compressor inlet guide vanes. But this technology in a turbocharger has to be affordable to the public. Would you pay 10,000 dollars for an APS TT kit with variable stator vanes? I guess that's why the base price for that car is $130,000.

wow...
those numbers are just INSANE..especially the torque available from 1950 rpm!!! -.-
DAAAAYUM!!!
but the car got a time of 7"50 on the nurburgring, while the new GTR was aiming at minimum 7"45..(GT2 being their comparsion in mind)...
the new GTR MIGHT outperform the new 911 Turbo^^

Just curiuous, what Porsche was mass produced and when? AFAIK, GM had the first mass produced turbo cars. Corvair Monza Spyder in '64 and if memory serves there was also an Oldsmobile, Jetfire Turbo in 1962. What Porsche was factory turbo charged in the early 60's? I always thought the '74 911 was the first production turbo Porsche.

There is no doubting that Porsche has stuck with Turbochargers and made them work like no one else, however, GM was the first.

Hey, no problem. Admirable to see someone who is upfront like you!!!
I was reading Porsche's stuff and noticed they worded it cleverly....
As much GM bashing as goes on all over the world, I just like to see a little credit given where due.
