I'm going to order some 295/35/19 BF Goodrich KDW NT for the rears.

What size would be best for the front 255/35/19 or 255/40/19 ?

I think the 40's would have the same sidewall height as the 295/35/19 rears.

Great Thread... I have been looking into this for SO long and havn't came up with any answers....
BEST SIZE for NISMO lmgt4 18's 18 X8.5 FRONT and 18X9.5 REAR... Right now my tire setup is 245-40-18 and 275-40-18.. I want to fit 295's or 305's best setup anyone??????

I think youd be better off going with the 35 profile, as the 40 profile is the stock profile, and if you put that on a 19 inch rim, you'll throw your wheel diamter off, and screw up your speedo readings. Plus the 35's would look a lot better. Just my opinion!

That's what I was thinking too but we have sooo many pot holes here that my front rims bent with a 245/35/19 tire.

I'm just not sure if a 255/35/19 would make it that much better. That’s why I was debating between a 35 or 40 profile.

Yeah i know what you mean, on my first car i had 18" with 30 profile, and after a month i had to get the rims recoated, and i went up to 35 totry and make it better.

You could go for the 40 profile, it might be a bit on the big side (fender clearance) but just make sure you get your speedo calibrated, because it can throw off your ABS and all other gadjetry.

Well if it helps your overall tire diameter will be larger so, theoretically the tires will be slightly bigger. If you wanted you could always get a 40 series but you'd have to match front and rear.

I did a calculation and I don't know if its accurate but so far with the scenarios i used it is. If you take the Width of a tire 255 divide that by sidewall height 35% you get a ratio of 2.857. If you do the same math with a 295/35 tire you also get 2.857. I believe that if you keep these numbers the same I don't think VDC should have an issue. I did the same calculation on the stock tire sizes and the numbers matched. This is just my opinion tho. Also Tire manufacturers differ from one another.

I'm using Michelin PS2 265/35/18 & 295/35/18
As long as your rear tires diameter are .5 -.75 inches larger than the front diameter everything should be fine.
Mfg. tire site or tirerack.com has all the exact specs for each tire.

If your gonna go for the 295 in the rear, you might aswell go for 305, then you've got the bragging rights of going into the "big boyz" tires.

Sway bars wont do much in a straight line, they are only designed to help cornering. Do-luck does make an anti dive/squat bar. I dont know if that might help?

Well... I do sign my own checks it's just a personal decision.

Do michelins really cost that much in the states, because here in europe, Spain specifically, there a lot cheaper than the toyo's and Yokohama's.
