Default 305 Rear Tire ???

Anyone running a 305 rear tire? Can you comment on traction with that size and FI? What is your RWHP? What offset are you running to make it fit with a 10.5" wheel?

I don't think it would make as big of difference as switching to another type of tire. It also might look fugly, like tractor tires on your rear wheels. Are you running 10.5x19s? If so, there's not a whole lot you can do as there isn't much available.

Are you talking about the width making it look like a tractor tire?

A 305/30/19 has the same rolling diameter as stock.

I think running a 305/30/19 is the best you can do or even a 35profile to a 11inch wheel not a 10,5.Offset i think you are at 40+ for the best traction,as for the eye and only go for the famous +22 10,5 but not for traction....For traction you need to be as much IN the fenders, must the rear wheels be as close as they can.

Have you considered running thicker sidewalls? With 30s you get abolutely no flex. I'm not sure if 35's would be much of a difference, but it's about a 17% gain in sidewall diameter.

Not to mention, they don't look like rubber bands on the rear wheels. (I don't like how 30s look)

AND THE MOST IMPORTAND FOR THESE HUGE TIRES IS THE CAMBER,YOU MUST BE 0(zero) and 350z are not(mine is)IF you are not then you can feel the best traction can a 305tire give, such a 275 you are....

I don't think you'd want to level out your camber totally to 0. From what I understand, .8-1.0 neg camber would be adequate. That is, if you like turning.

Jet, here you go. I just changed up to a 305/25/20 Continental SportContact 2. The rear wheels are 20 x 10.5 with 26mm offset and fenders are cut. Previous setup was a Michelin Pilot A/S 285/30/20. Traction is definitely better, but not substantial.

503 WHP/ 550 Torque

19 Inch SF
9.5 and 10.5

Pirelli P/Zero
305/30/19 rear
275/35/19 front

All good for the street. Still blows the tires if you SMASH 3rd gear and double clutch regardless of the tire...

0 is a bit extreme , but generally in the right direction , espcially withvery wide rollers, the negative camber unweights the outside edge more as you go wider.

Fro those that don't beleive , just drive straight over a gravel drive and you will see clean band around the outside edge. Less -camber will reduce this band by about an inch

I get the car back Friday. I will post vids and dyno charts on Monday. I got the SGP Greddy 3" dp with dump tubes. I was going to keep it under 475whp, but Shawn persuaded me to upgrade my injectors to RC 650's and go for more. It didn't take much persuading. It was dangling a crack rock in front of a crack head.

For those of you running 285+ rears, what suspension mods are you running and how are they working?

315/35/18 i think is the best for traction for the Z for the straight line.Just buy a 11x18 ultra light wheel and do it.

I'm going to run the minimum factory recomended camber spec which I think is -.6 and a 305/30/19. I have a 10.5" wheel with a 28 offset. I have the fenders rolled. My car is dropped pretty low. I hope this will work without rubbing.

Thanks for the pics....
