Default Fuel pressure gauge install

I'm installing a fuel pressure guage and I was planning on just running a T fitting off of the hose coming into the fuel dampener on the passenger side of the plenum. Unfortunately, I did a search first, and now I'm not so sure.

Does being in front of the dampener change the accuracy of you readings signigicantly? Has anyone had any problems with a T fitting for fuel pressure? and how do you get the air out of the T limb that leads to the pressure sensor?

Sorry for so many question in one post. I just don't want to mess this up.

Sorry I cant help you with t-fitting questions but look in the N20 section I know many of those guys use t-fittings. Why dont you just buy a $50 SPT fuel tap, you can use it for a guage, and takes 2 minutes. Pics below with a Defi FP sender tapped in...

+1 This is what I did but I used the AAM fuel pressure block adaptor.

I used a brass T fitting to tap the fuel pressure on my vortech. I put the T on the fuel line after the FMU, right before the connection to the OEM fuel system (on passenger side of car near exhaust manifolds). Make sure the male adapters are very tight on the T fitting because mine leaked when i first installed it. I just tightened them up and everything was fine.

I wouldn't worry about air in the T fitting or fuel lines. All the air will be expelled from the system as soon as you start your car.

BTW are you a med student or graduate from UM? Im starting the the med school in the fall. Any advice? lol

Crap. I cut into the hose to install the t fitting. I wanted it to be as close to the rail as possible so I cut into the hose just before the fuel damper. Only problem was, it's not a regular hose. It has a polyurethane INNER hose surounded by a weak rubber OUTER hose. I did get the T in place, but I made a hole somewhere else in my 2 hrs of fighting with the T.

So now I have to buy the hose/damper assembly, which is of course a special order part.

I ended up ordering the hose/damper for $65 from performance nissan, as well as their fuel tap for $70. And I get to drive around my brothers rustang until all the parts get here.

It's been that kind of week.
