Finally got the car back from the new short block from SGP , Bigger IC , bigger IC pipes , SPG valve body , 6MT rear end , Tranny cooler
The car is a monster !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took it up in the rpm range to check things out and all looked good , so I did a little boosting . I had increased the fuel in the fuel map a little before hand . It looked good at 6psi . So I went WOT from a 40 MPH roll in 3rd and the back end came around and almost scared the chit out of me . The combination of IC , IC pipes , and valve body transformed this car .
I need to set the Bypass valve [ a little flutter ] , check for boost leaks , and change the oil . And Im ready to start tuning this thing . I can tell it is flowing much more air than before and I will be satisfied with this power level .
I want to thank SGP for taking care of the problem with my first block and Mike from Sublime Speed , for his great fabricating .
Some of the Vortech guys were wondering about a 3in. MAF pipe . Mike said he really couldnt make them at a price most would pay , so we abandon the idea of making a bunch of them for you guys . Sorry

I took it up to around 5000rpm's and 10psi , it might have been 5500rpm . I was keeping an eye on the A/F and boost .
Cant you tell Im excited ????? lol

I also lowered the fuel preasure down to 48psi and the car [ so far ] starts much better when warm . Fired right up both times I tried it warmed up .

I think with a little less than a 100 miles on it . I'll just tune it to 5500rpm and wait till the summer blend 92 octane comes out . If it gets close to 16psi , I will need the Utech EMU . Which I was contiplating any way . The SS box only goes up to 16psi and I also want the knock retard feature the Utech provides

Bill - With U being back on the road it's great news for us Vortech fans!
Be sure & let me know how the SGP tranny mods work for ya, Bill. I can't seem to make up my mind about beefing up my current A/T or swapping over to a 700R4 - having Isbell look into that as an option.
Mark @ SGP thinks that their V/B will handle 550 rwhp but beyond that we'll need the beefier clutch packs which R 2 months out.
The block will be in John's greedy hands

I better hurry up and tuner this thing to see if she'll go to 500whp . Hey did Jonh get that Blue Z finished he had in his shop ? It was that Softball chicks car...cant remember her name . Was wondering what it dynoed at

) that I wanted to see in it's completed stage.
What's the latest on Vortech offering a cogged belt/pulley system?
I figure to be right behind ya with 16#+ of boost
& can see the belt slippage as a serious concern.
Sharif thinks an additional 5-7 lb/ft of torque on the ARP studs will reduce the chance of head lifting at these boost pressures - that's what he's doing with his Greddy.
Gurgen feels that the Cometic head gaskets that I'll have on the AEBS block ( coupled with the Darton MID-sleeves ) SHOULD be good for 20# of boosting!!
Now if I can just get my tranny to hold up!!

John had told me Cat's car was on hold , but I thought he might have had it done by now . He had sent me some pic's of it .
The shop didnt over tighten the head bolts , nor do I have the Cometic head gasket . But from what Ive been told , Since I will not reach real high boost levels till above 5000rpm , I might not get the head lift . We'll see
