Default Best ECU for Forced Induction

Kind of new to the whole ECU thing ansd was wondering what is the best control computer for a forced induction system? I have seen the Unichip, Greddy e-manage, etc... I was wondering about the differences of the available units.
Thanks

all of these people will have different answers. MOST people with greddy TT have the e-manage or the new UTEC and if you get an APS kit comes with one(unichip that is).

With the right tuner, you can make just about any piggyback do amazing things.

That said, I was just about to bite the bullet on a new UTEC, but I may decide to stick with the Unichip after seeing what Ted at Scott Performance can do with it. Still undecided though.

Yeah seems that the UTEC is one of the most popular for the Z. I think there are some using the HKS fcon too

The APS kit comes with a Unichip, not the UTEC. In terms of current ECU's on the market, the UTEC provides the highest level of control, and knock feedback and retard; this puts it ahead of the other options. We've tuned all of them, and like Failsafe said, you can get safe results out of all of them. IMHO, the most important element is the tuner, and their comfort level with each system. I would much rather you purchase that unit that you tuner recommends, and has the most experience with.

Well said...going with what your local tuner knows best is always a smart move.

The VPRO ranks at the top of my list, but the downside is the lack of cert shops - - - I have 1000cc injectors on my car and my tuner was about to fire up my car in five minutes on the first try using the VPRO - that was impressive to me.

Shariff, if you were gonna go for a self tune before actually taking it to a pro for a tune, which would you recomend, i´ve heard you say a lot of good things about the e-manage ultimate. I ask this question, because here in spain there is no such thing as an "experienced tuner". Especially with a Z, there rare as *** here.

ROFL! sounds good to me.
For self tuning, and road tuning, the EU target AF tuning makes tuning a breeze. The EU is going to be easier to tune for the novice self-tuner, and in lower boost applications, I think its a great solution for you.

I wish the HKS FCon was tunable by the owner as well, it sucks to dump all this money on a standalone ECU and not being able to mess with it unless you take it to a "hks pro dealer" BS.
