Fluidampr pulley: worth the $$?
I posted a couple months back about the pulley wobble I was experiencing, and kindof left it at that. I surmise that as a result, there is a considerable amount of oil coming from the front crankshaft seal.
Got to looking at it today, the wobble is VERY remarkable, enough where its chaffing the sides of the drive belts. Wonderful It needs prompt attention. Fortunately, the local Nissan dealership shot me a quote of ~$170 labor ($8 for the seal) to replace the seal, and will install whatever pulley I provide. Sounds fair - I'd rather not f*ck with trying to do my own seal install (unless someone has a whoop-azz DIY on this type of thing?)
Wondering if anyone has any experience with the fluid-filled harmonic dampers on the Z, and whether that will preserve engine function than a standard OEM or UR pulley? My concern is that the amount of torque I'm putting out with the APS ST will necessitate an upgraded pulley such as that shown in the link to prevent re-repair.
Any input is welcome!

I got one of the first one's out. When I first changed flywheels(JUN), the motor was real buzzy, Fluidamper smoothed it out a lot. I wouldn't run a pulley w/o a damper of some kind.
Let's NOT start an argument over this, I like the Fluidamper one I have.
MY Opinion.

ya, i hate to see guys swap out for the lightened pulley, because the viscous joint dampens crank vibrations and helps the main bearings. glad to see you are looking at the fluidamper and not just a solid crank pulley.
if the nissan dealership holds to the $170 price, i would let them do it.
