Default Exhaust Smoke

I have a dual exhaust on my TT Z and smoke comes out of just the drivers side of the exhaust. what would cause that? the reason i ask is because weve been having some problems with how the cars been running latley and was wondering if theres something i should be looking for. Thanks

do you see the smoke during any specific time?
acceleration?..decel?, idle..worse at start up first thing in the morning?

several possibilities... turbo seals, piston rings, damaged pistons, valve stem seals...

just like said above, do a leakdown, this will be the most conclusive test, even though, at times a leakdown can show a false negative (showing everything is ok)...a compression test has a MUCH higher probability of displaying a fasle negative, for this reason, put your emphasis on a leakdown test to start the investigative procedure.
