Default FI bug

This is a random thread... I just had to post it though.

So I've been wanting to do the Turbonetics kit for some time now, and planned on being able to do it in the summer (going for a self-install). But recently I thought about instead putting the money towards a sport bike, as it would cost around the same as all the turbo goodies.

Everything changed today. I saw a Lambo Gallardo fly by main street this afternoon. I was walking to class, and I caught him again on an opposite street a few minutes later. He was stopped at a red light, and I was about a block in front of him. I took my phone out to get a video of the thing (didnt turn out too great). He saw me taking the vid and he flipped the bird! So now, my thoughts of a sport bike are completely gone, as I am dying to pump more power out of my Z.

All I can hope is that by the end of the summer (and after more supporting mods), I will run into the guy again, and return the gesture.

End of pointless rant

What an a$$clown. I would hunt him down and represent the Z's... but even with the twins, I'm pretty sure that he is out of my league.

I guess you're going to have to let karma take care of that one.

EDIT- Hmm... about a year ago I saw a blue one out front of the Logan House. Wonder if it was the same guy.

Nah this one was yellow. Dark tinted windows. If you're ever around the UD area, I'm sure you could find him. He's been trolling around all week. I couldn't catch what state his tags were though. As for being out of your league.... what setup are you running? how much boost, etc.

CS 2003 touring with APS twins, APS 2.5 exhaust, LMGT-4 wheels (w/ nitto 555's), RPS flywheel, RPS street max clutch, Nismo s-tune suspension & sways, track brembo brakes, boost & wideband guages... and some other minor stuff. stock block/internals. 8psi on a 93 octane base map. I don't know how much power I am putting down yet (I had to break the new clutch in before any hard dyno runs) but will find out in about a month when I take it in to be tuned. I can tell you that it is frightenly easy to break the rear wheels loose at 60 mph on the highway (and even scarier when I do it at 85).

My car is fairly quick, but the Gallardo is a whole different class. I would not go up against one with less than 500whp and expect to win... and from a dig, they will tear us apart on the launch -- you would need drag radials and enough power to play catchup if need be to win.

Regarding your install: you should talk to the guys at Car v2 about a turbo install. They have installed pretty much every kit out there for the z33 and I have heard nothing but good things about their work. They did mine and I had a great experience with them. You mentioned that you might do a self-install: I had thoughts of doing that as well and I can't be happier that I decided to take it to the pros. I had some unichip issues during the install (worked out quickly once we narrowed the problem down) and Car v2 did all the troubleshooting and fixed the problem for the original quoted price even though the problem was not their fault.

With the Turbonetics kit and 410 rwhp I can run with Gallardo's and Vipers. Drivers race.

I have never tried, so I will take your word for it... Maybe I should go trolling for this punk. He's only ten minutes from me.

I agree... first hand I cant speak of it but I think it all comes down to the driver.

About CarV2... I would take it there, in fact I would probably have them do the tune, but I would actually love to install it myself (on top of saving a few hundred bucks). I have a gear-head dad who would be helping, and one of my buddies is in a tech school for all that kind of stuff so I have a good team I guess you could say. Also, t-netics single turbo should be so much easier then doing twins.

But your setup sounds awesome bro. I'd love to see you wipe that smirk of that guys face.

Are you a student? How often is all the time. You're from Wilmington, what makes you think you're gonna see one car in a large city that you're not even from. I've seen the thing 3 seperate times in the last 2 days. And what are you trying to say that I didn't see it? Bright yellow. And for once I heard a different engine note (usually its all riced civics)

You don't have to get salty. I'm saying I go to school at Goldey-Beacom right up the road from UD and lived in Elkton right on the other side of Newark. I was just simply saying that I've never seen it, not that I don't believe you. Chill bud
