I was looking at the K&N site and came across this one.

http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=RC-4850

It says it has a molded in velocity stack! Cool!
It is also a but taller than other 3 short ones posted above. The Base OD is about an 1 larger in Diameter. I don't know how much room you greddy guys have; maybe it'll fit. The chrome top looks good and a quick search shows these are selling for about $45 each.

if you look on the HKS site, you can see all different color inserts that will fit in there just fine.

This is what I made for my G. It uses two AEM dryflow filters. I put my water/meth pump between them for a perfect fit.

Nice setup, what size filters did you end up using? Looks like a 4in rear tapered to 3in cone and 3in diameter flange.

On the passenger side, did you cut a hole in the wall? I dont recall there being any hole corrisponding to the intake duct on the passanger side.

If I remember right they are 5" to 4". The intake pipe is 2.75".

Yes I had to cut a hole for both sides and bend the A/C lines to fit the driver's side.

Did you notice a rise in coolant temps?

No, I have that big AMS radiator. It gets more than enough air.

KNN-RU-5111 this is one with a 3 inch inlet, i believe the same one i used. actually, i used two lol.

Hey guys just wanted to update a little on the mushroom of death replacement.

I have the RU 5111's and they fit in the cubbies left by the mushrooms quite easily.

The trick is pulling off the suction pipes and shoving the intake side of the pipe as far in the filter as possible to compress the whole assembly.

At this point you put it in filter side first into the passenger side cubby hole the put the suction tube end back into the coupler. Once the coupler is strapped down properly you extend the filter back out into the recessed hole.

The biggest pain in the tail was the MAF sensor housing and clip. I found the easiest thing to do is unclip the MAF SENSOR loosen the hose clamps on both ends of the housing and rotate the housing clockwise until the receptical is at about the 11 o'clock position. Retighten hose clamps.

At this point you have enough working room to get the pipe and filter in and out with the filter on it. Again compress the whole assemble together as much as possible. Once its in extend it back out.

As you can see there is PLENTY of room arround the intakes so the 5111 is a good size to have. Its not them small rinky dink puck looking ones. These should have ZERO restriction.

Yeah the pictures seem big... PHOTOBUCKET is not showing the size I resized to.

Here is a picture of the engine bay.

Very nice. I was just about to cut my pipes to fit my AEM dry filters as well. I will give this a try tomorrow.

Yeah I was about 45 seconds from cutting the pipes my self. Had them marked and everything. I wanted to try it before I cut the pipes and I was PLESANTLY surprised. I figured the only thing I had to lose was time and its easier to do this than to try and fix cut pipes.

You can squeeze a bigger filter in there man. Less resistance is better air flow. Though there is only about 3.5 square inches of material diffrence between the 5111 and 9350.

Does anyone know, offhand, the filter area of the Greddy Mushroom filters? I was going to compare it with some of the K&N options.

here's a good shot of my driver's side air filter. I have a greddy kit, but I went with a dual speed force racing intercooler setup (G35 bumper).

Anyways, these are pretty good sized filters I have on here. and the inlet pipe size ID is 2.75" as an FYI to those of you about to order filters.
