Its a little more dificult than say the K&N's. Since its esentialy a dome and not quite a half a sphere you can get a decent estimate by taking the distance from the top of the dome to the base and multiply that by the circumfrance of the base of the filter. By doing that you essentialy divide it out to a parabala. You can get a decent idea but will need trig to get an accurate measurement of the surface area.

You have plenty of room down there, all you need is the correctly bent 3" pipe and a 3" coupler.

The driver's side is pretty tight with the AC compressor right there. Also, I'm pretty sure that both motor mount brackets need some working over with a die grinder, too.

Irealy doubt it. Foam rubber is foam rubber. The holes are WAY too big but they have to be to make the filter breathable since the material it self isnt. The K&N on the other hand the material is ALL breathable so you have the tighter holes and the oil which give FAR superior filtration.

Those are the replacement filter elements that you need. Just use the size Jeremy stated (ie 150mm under element size). They have different colors, so no one part #.

Just pulled my motor yesterday and my driver's side turbo was nasty from all the blow by I get on that side. My pass side has a catch can and was nice and clean.
While it's out we are going to make new intake pipes for my AEM filters that go behind the grille so I can ditch one pair of silicone couplers.
I'll post up pics when they are done and if anyone wants him to make some for them I'll send you his number.

has anyone tried any stainless steel air filters instead of cloth type filters?
i'm not exactly sure how well they filter but i've seen one in person and it looks like it does some pretty fine filtering and flow quite a bit but it does say that they are for track use only. but when you think about it can they really be any worse than the mushrooms heh. i think i make pick up a couple and see what happens. i'll probally remove my plenum and clean out the aftermath of the mushrooms before i go with the stainless to see if they keep the plenum any cleaner.
