[QUOTE=DXB350Z][QUOTE=taurran]I think it's already been confirmed that the 98 octane in UAE is equivalent to american 93 octane?

Sorry...but how is that? is there a link i am missing?
Actually it might have been even lower than the 91 here. It was on the boards in another FI thread with a guy from UAE.

i didnt realize that the price difference between the two kits was that close. if they are that close then i would take the aps for all of the reasons mentioned and the fact that if u do decide to get crazy, the power potential of the aps is a lot more, obviously!

However..yesterday.they also recommended buying an APS TT instead of pickin and matching a kit together...he mentioned the location of the turbos in the APS produces less heat under the hood than the Single TN...
Looking at the prices...the TN with the unichip and all the supporting mods will be about $500(moreor less) cheaper than the WHOLE APS TT kit....

now after this..i am also considering the APS TT kit..at stock boost...tuned and call it a day..
we have nothing but good experience with APS products from australia coz they produce SAFARI turbos for Nissan Patrols (not available in US) as well as Landcruisers...there products are OEM spec no doubt..there turbos are commonly used here.

thanks a bunch guys for all the opinions..very much appreciated.

Absolute no brainer if they are similarly priced - heck a no brainer IMO even if the APS is considerably more

ST = Daily Driver.
TT = Weekends Street Hunting.

P.S. good luck with APS since aps turbos/unichip is everywhere in U.A.E.

i think he's just referring to the fact that the aps will make that much more power.

anyone wanna attempt to do a price break down of the two. i still find it a little hard to believe that the two can be that closely priced, because anytime i go and look at F/I prices i could never seem to afford the APS.

Yeah I don't think the price is that close either. Someone can correct this with more accurate pricing but...

APS is around $7400and the install will cost much more than the TN ST. Both will need tuning.

TN tuner kit 3800
Fuel system 1000
Injectors 500
UTEC 1000
-------------------
Total TN: 6300

So it looks like a 1-2k difference.

APS TT = $7390 , he is out of the US so prices may differ.

So a 1-2k or so difference with install? Probably could save more on the injectors by going with Deachworks at half the price.
Plus you get a better fuel system and EMS. But it is a little closer than I thought.

An APS kit with the "recommended" mods (test pipes and exhaust), gauges, and install will easily run you $11k. Oh, and if you don't use their exhaust they might blame any problems on the fact that you're not using an APS exhaust.... The kit is a performer, though, and I'd go with it if I had enough money and wanted a TT.

Yeah but even then, there are other Twin Turbo's to choose from...

JWT, Ultimate Racing, Speed-Force Racing, Greddy, etc.

How i looked at it...

TN Tuner 4000
Unichip 1000
Injector 500
Fuel Return 1000
oil Pan spcr 300

total 6800

Guys..i know i might be able to cut down a couple of hundred bucks...but i believe that FI is costly and cant afford any shortcuts...if you wanna do it..do it right and be safe...
yeah you might save a couple of hundreds now..but you'll be paying a couple of thous for a build up later.

APS TT....7380

Installation for me is the same for either kits.

you'd save about $100 going with the JWT pan spacer. Just drill/tap it, bam, you've saved $100 or more heh.

Yeah, I've been working on pricing lately trying to decide. The TN tuner kit and then everything needed - less gauges is more expensive than the JWT TT???
