Default Vacuum pressure

I didn't want to high jack another thread so I am going to start this one. I read that idle vacuum should be at 20, 22 units. Mine is sitting at about 17.5 to 18. Does this indicate a vacuum leak? I did notice on the passenger side of the engine near a hose this pssh pause pssh pause pssh sound. Is this normal or could this be where the leak is? Its getting dark here so I can't really see to well at the hoses. I will have to look at it tomm. Any ideas?

If you can hear it...yes ...I would say you have a leak

Sounds like a leak to me. Which hose are you referring to?

In most cases anything above 17 inches is fine

Actually it was just a bad gauge (not calibrated properly) . I put on a new gauge and and my vac pressure is now at 21 at idle.
