Default 06 Build

im fixin to tear in to my 06 rev up motor for future FI. what i was wonder is since i have the rev up cams in the 06 should i just get a built short block and keep my heads and cams. my other option is getting a fully put together long block and just throw it in. the labor would be alot cheaper and i know that i can go with jwt cams but i was just wonder if it would be better to go with the built small block and throw my heads on it that way i dont have to do any computer timing right away. just wonder what ya'll would do in my position. i'm only shooting for 450-550 when i go turbo.

you should be able to easily hit at least 450 on the stock heads and cams. Keepin mind, there is a considerable difference between 450-500 whp and 500-550 whp.

You should be able to get a short block installed for under 5000 and if you do your, I am guessing TT, you might save in labor charges because the motor will be pulled for the shortblock install.

should include:
Eagle rods - 600
Wiseco, Arias, CP pistons - 800
ARP head and mains - 400
machine work - 200-500
rebuild kit (gaskets and such) - 350

Labor should be around 2500 bucks

obviously, this is a rough estimate off the top of my head
