was not getting upset at all but ya failsafe was getting rid of the SFR, lol, ya the names are close.

I was under the impression the X pipe was designed for V8s because of their firing order.
the VQ's firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6. so in other words it always is firing bank to bank. the X pipe works by the low pressure created by one exhaust pulse passing by the non-firing bank. it helps with the scavenging of the non-firing cylinder. on the VQ this process happens consistently through the firing order.
on a small block chev the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. you can see that cylinders 8-4 and 5-7 are firing in sequence and on the same bank. meaning in theory the X pipe will work even better on the VQ.
now since only one exhaust pulse happens at a time, the X pipe cannot create a restriction as the center of it is still even about 3.5" yet only one exhaust pulse at a time will ever be going through it. after the X pipe, the exhaust has 2 paths to travel doubling the size of the exhaust, plus it now can almost double the effientcy of your resonators and mufflers because of this. the X pipe can also help with noise cancelation. this is why at normal driving conditions, steve commented on how quite the exhaust really is.

thanks to guys like david vizard, smokey unick, and MANY others, the V-8's have been constantly under racing development for more than 50 years. most of the neat things found in our motors derive from what has been learned in nascar and indy racing on small and big blocks in past years.

I don't it will sound identical. I've heard the same Nismo and APS exhausts on both cars and there's a noticeable difference. I'm thinking it might sound better on a G.

Is there an extension offered to fit the G35? I needed one for my Nismo that's made for the Z.

This exhaust is not loud. It reminds me of my INJEN exhaust when I was NA. There is a bit of a drown at about 2500 rpm but thats it. When I went for a ride I thought it was going to be hella loud, it wasnt.

Did you have to modify/lengthen it to fit your G?

wait a second you mentioned the test pipes were included, I take it this is a TBE that simply eliminates the cats - if so cool! but looking at flanges they look different kinda like the flanges on the greddy tt kit (but the flanges on the 18g's are only like 2.5" right? I dont see a taper from the 2.5-.3" flange. Anyhow any additional info is appreciated

i have set it next to an aps dual car and the idle is a little quiter with mine. there is some drone at about 2500. after 3000rpm, it goes almost quite, close to stock if you are just cruising. the X pipe helps with noise cancelation.

the flanges are designed to work with any turbo kit (except turbonetics would need to be modified) or n/a. 3" duals is too big for n/a, but the small dia systems in the future will be able to be used for n/a and bolt right up to the stock manifolds or shorty headers.
there is a taper from 2.5-3". it is only about an inch long though and might be hard to see in the pics.
we designed it to include the test pipe section to eliminate the sharp bends, with this we were able to get all the bends in the entire system 30 degrees or less, which is optimum for flow. this was also a more economical way to manufacture and for people to afford. 3" test pipes are not easy to find and when you do, you will pay a pretty penny for them. this design ends up being better for the customer.
there is also 4 02 bungs welded in the front section. 2 for running your stock rear 02 sensors, then one for running your wideband gauge, and the 4th for when you are running a/f on the dyno for tuning. all in all, my objective was to make the system complete and at a serious cost savings to the customer in the long run. oh ya, and to have it sound wicked and flow like a mudder!!

the 3" system has been selling crazy lately, and with my motor build now happening not much extra time has been able to go to other prototypes. there is getting to be a big list of stuff i am going to make for the Z/G, just need more hours in a day, lol.

Yea but for $1600+ Dollars it's no bargin and I would rather go with an aps 3' exhaust since they are known to be the best in the FI market with all of their R&D they put into everthig they make.. Respectively...
