Does FI beat just getting a faster car?
or get a supra and drop it off at boost logic..lol. OR do like i was going to do and buy a 5spd lexus is300. those cars are devils and can push a hell of a lot more power then the Z can. i bought my IS used 2 years ago for around 18k...
im talkin about him saying that they can handle more power than the Z can. most fi's is's i see are around 400-450 which is around what most stock internal people on the 350z's are. and max power wise... well we have people that are also WAY over 1000 hp so i dont see how the IS can handle more power.
i just heard because its the supra motor. i heard that the stock bottom end can hold a crap load. considering the turbo kits some of the guys on is300.net are putting on the stock block. check the forums...

False...the stock bottom end of an IS300's 2JZ is NOT the same as the bottom end of a Turbo Supra's 2JZ. The 2JZ in the IS has high compression, light weight internals just like the 350Z's VQ.

Gatti-man, I know you used to have a Cobra right? What do you think about the new Shelby Mustang coming out? I think those may be cheaper than the Z06 and should have some good resale/collector value. Also what do you think of the concept 2007 Camaro? I think the exterior styling on that is sweet. Just thought I'd throw out those choices too.

The only car that would I would even look at replacing the Z is a Exique w/ the track items added (and no AC). The car comes ready - as is - for competition and I would have to get the chrome orange. The car only weighs 2000#'s w/ 184 rwhp! If you look at the power to weight ratio, all you would need to do is get about 100 more rwhp on that engine (twin turbo), and it will beat anything on a road coarse! And you could buy this car and get the Twin Turbo set up on it for about the same price as a new Z06. You also would have a car that very few others have and not have to pay $$$$$$$$ to get this status. Plus, it gets over 30 mpg stock!

What about this? For about 55-60K?
BMW’s M3, scheduled for launch next year, will feature V8 power for the first time, derived from the same powerplant propelling its road-rocket siblings, the M5 and M6. The 4.0-liter engine should deliver 415 hp via a seven-speed sequential manual gearbox or an optional six-speed manual.
In these photos our spy caught the M3 on a test drive near Munich, allowing us to reveal the car from every angle. Note the large air intakes at the front end, wider fenders and four exhaust pipes.
BMW’s sunshine-loving buyers will have to wait an extra year for the convertible M3, along with a rumored four-door “bring the family” M3 sedan.

lol @ the $80k to compete with a vette or porsche guy. I don't know where you are coming up with your numbers but they are so far off it's not even funny. Well actually it was funny because I laughed when I saw the BS numbers you posted.
it isn't hard at all to get up to 80k though
it all depends on what you consider good enough and what needs to improve. Also whether or not you buy new or used parts and if you buy good parts or the best parts

There is one compelling reason I keep thinking about going FI on my Z with a fully built motor......this simply one of the best looking cars on the road regardless of price. I am absolutely in love with the looks of this car. It is simply drop dead gorgeous.

yup, and there is something neat about having your own extreme custom setup Z than a stock or near stock vette or whatever.
