Default 54K too much for Turbo???

I have 54 thousand miles on my motor and am looking at adding FI to it and was wondering if that was too many miles on the motor. There is nothing currently wrong with it and it has always had Mobil 1 synthetic.
Thanks
Blaine

thre are people that added turbos after 80k miles i believe. im planning on doing it after 60k. from what i know it should be fine. maybe do a compression test or wutever it is to make sure your engine is in fine standings.

if it passes a leakdown AND a compression test, then you should be OK. You could always send your oil out for analysis as well... with all this information from these 3 tests you could confidently decide if you want to turbocharge the higher mileage engine.

I recently (Janurary 1st) turbo'd at 54K, I did a compression test before and everything was good. No issues thus far...

If your motor is strong, you can have a 100K.

My dad started to mod his 300zx at around 60k miles and was running 450rwhp all the way until 140k...ran real strong.(not the same engine, but a testament to Nissans longevity.)

It depends on entirely on you, and your financial situation. I dont think anyone can answer the above question, except for you.

If your engine is healthy, FI should be fine, regardless of miles.

older turbo F1 cars(1300hp+) were using old blocks with 30-40K miles on them, they were prefered to brand new blocks.

Yes, that is very true. The Brabham BMW F1 used a production 4 cylinder blocks that had 60k miles on them because the many thermal cycles they were exposed to made them more "lose" so they could withstand some serious boost. Qualifying horsepower was well over 1000hp from a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine.
