Default I just had the FCON installed, opinions and dyno #'s

I just got back from SGP in Houston. I had the HKS FCON V-PRO, the HKS Knock Amp, Blitz SBC-id boost controller, 1000cc injectors, and an Aeromotive FPR installed. All I have to say is....this thing runs better than it did bone stock. Rock solid idle at 1000rpms, AWESOME throttle response, and a great linear powerband. I couldn't be happier, honestly. If the 350Z had a twin turbo option, it would drive exactly like this, no bullshit. The combonation of the APS kit and the V-PRO is simply amazing.

Well, on to the numbers. I told Mark that I wanted a very reliable tune on crap 91 octane. I ended up with 540rwhp and 560rwtq at about 15psi of boost on a Dynapack dyno, tuned very conservatively. The power is so linear, I think that I actually have better traction down low now than I did before with only ~500whp, haha. Basically, I love it and wouldn't think twice before recommending SGP to anyone. Their attention to detail is amazing and it was very refreshing to be able to have full confidence in a shop again

Thanks Fairlady. I'm going to see if Mark can send me a dyno run that goes further than 5800 rpms, I'm still making power well beyone that haha.

congrats to you and mark at SGP!!! nice numbers and good to know that it drives better than bone stock and I think no one can ask anything better than that!!! All modifications done to the car should really turn out to be like this instead of worrying yourself or need to go into the workshop back and forth just to get things right! two words for you now.... ENJOY IT!

cheers,

richie

I told you would be happy with the V-Pro. The throttle response still amazes me. Congrats!

Nice especially if Mark gave you a conservative tune. Awesome tq numbers too!

Same with me. With Mark's tune I can still burn my tires, but it seems to grab more down low.

Did you end up getting custom dump tubes for you APS kit?

Now go out and drive that thing and enjoy it. You been waiting a long time for this.

Thanks gman, and everyone.

I did not go with custom dumps, I really didn't see any reason to at this point, I don't think it would have been worth it in my case. My stock valves are most likely what's holding me back at this point. He could have pushed it much higher but the reliability factor would have been out the window, and with this being my daily driver and all....

If my motor ever needs to be rebuilt for any reason, I'm going with Dartons bored to 100mm and the Ferrea valvetrain, and some other things they have in the works. I'll be good with what I have for at least another year though, then I'll be itching for more.

Nah, like I said, that is just where the chart happened to cut off, he kept going to like 6500 or so IIRC. I'll find out for sure later today.

Thanks man! My redline is set at 7600, but I'm not sure exactly where the power starts to drop off; I have to get a better dyno chart that shows everything after 5800rpm.

All of the parts retail about $3350, including the main unit, harnesses, sensors, wideband o2 gauge, Knock Amp, etc... Then you have tuning and labor which is going to be different from shop to shop. It's a huge chunk of change, but to me it was worth it to have it drive like it came like that from Nissan.

Sorry to pick your brain so much (would like to take advantage of your current excitment over your new toy ). The HKS FCON VPRO is a full stand I remember. Does it give you all the features like cruise control and everything else the Nissan ECU used to control? Are you now running drag radials with upgraded axels? Some 295's in the back will increase the good ole G Force effect for your passenger upon "take off"!!!! We all wait patiently for some vids!!!

you have everything except cruise control. I tried mine the other day and it works for a few seconds, but then freaks out and shuts down. Other than that everything else works.

I think I know how to fix the cruise control... but until I put an engine back in my car I cannot try it. Ill post on here when I get to that point.
