Got my sandwich adapter in the mail today. Very quick shipping and very impresive product! It came with 2 1/8" NPT plugs to plug 2 of the 3 1/8 NPT holes. It also came with 2 large brass fittings to adapt it to various different engines, a gasket and the adapter plate.

I am assuming that the large brass fitting screws into the block and then the main adapter plate with the gasket slides onto the brass fitting. Then you just screw the oil filter into the opposite end of the brass fitting. Thus the sandwich nature of this thing!

Here are the pix of what all came with this for $42 shipped!

It is a really good deal. Are the 2 different sized brass fittings for use on different Nisan motors as I am assuming? Let me know once you install this.

Let me know what he says. Chances are, if yours does not fit, neither will mine!

Did you receive 2 different thread sized brass adapters? If so, were they both incorrect?

I did get the two fittings. One didnt fit the block and the other did. I screwed that one on and was about to finish up. I tried to install the Nissan filter and it was a no go. I then tried the old Napa filter I had on before the oil change and it also was a no go. The filter starts on the threads but thats it. It wont go any further. For those of you that have one of these and are worried about the install just try and fit the filter on the bigger fitting. If it fits your golden. The seller emailed me back and is trying to help.

I installed one of these the other day. the one the fit over the stock thread was harder to get the filter to thread on than the one that didn't fit. It wasn't cross threaded, just tough to get on.

So, you are saying that this will work. Its just a VERY tight fit with the threads? If worried about stripping out the threads in the engine, why not go ahead and install the filter on the adapter and then screw that assembly into the block? You could just put a wrench on the brass fitting and then use a oil filter wrench to screw the filter onto the fitting. This way, you have no chance of stripping out the threads in the block.

I had no problems getting the piece installed onto the motor. The filter was somewhat tight to screw on. On the other piece that was not used it screwed on very easily, with the one that is used, it needed a little more pressure to screw on.

Thats why I was wondering if assembling the filter onto the adapter prior to installing it on the engine would be safer because it is so tight. This would eliminate the potential for stripping out the threads on the motor.

Or do you feel that it was tight enough to possibly strip anything out. Definitely wouldnt want to risk anything!

Great news. What gauges are you running with this adapter?

I am running an oil temp off the adapter. I had the greddy adapter, but it is british thread and I had to use a converter to get it isntalled. I didn't feel it was giving me accurate enough temps, so I installed this one. I have the greddy off and for sale if anyone is interested. Used for about 3K miles and like new

If the threads are correct, you should be able to spin the filter on freely. Are you saying there is some notable resistance?

there was a bit of resistance, but nothing I was concerned with. Basically if I spun it, it wouldn't free wheel on.

Hopefully I will get my gauges next week and I will have a crack at this myself! I will post up how it goes whenever I get around to it. BTW, Zivman, thanks for the help here and your setup looks awesome!
