Well it took a lot of force but I got it on. Once I got it half way on it spun on easy. I guess its ok as long as I change my own oil every time. Seems odd to me that it just doesnt spin on though.

The beginning thread just might have had a small burr or was rounded a bit. shouldn't be an issue going forward.

The threads might not be cut as pricely or cleanly as OEM. But, if its not binding, and you can spin it on my hand, I suppose its ok.

I installed my adapter and a K&N HP-1008 filter yesterday and it went on with ease! BTW, what are our oil temps supposed to be at? Mine was running around 230F yesterday. I also have a Vortech so I know that will probably heat the temps up a little.

what???

230 F? that seems very high. at cruising, my oil temps are around 140. it may creep as high as 190, but i rarely see 200 during normal driving. i have the APS ST.

wonder if it has to do with the location of the probe. in either case, that oil temp seems a bit high.

Seemed high to me too, but I don't have a clue what it is supposed to be. I dont know how the APS ST is with the oil line, but the Vortech uses oil from the engine. This may cause it to run hotter than a N/A or turboed car that has a self contained oiling system. It did only creep up that high once, but it still runs around 190-200F.

The location of the probe will make a BIG difference ie: 40+ degree difference. If you see temps go much higher be concerned. Check your true coolant temp via an OBDII tool like a pocketlogger or cipher and see what types of coolant temps you are seeing in contrast to your oil temps
