I stopped reading right here

"While playing with the clutch and throttle, use the parking brake to keep your car from rolling. This is the only way to keep your car stationary while you work the clutch with the left foot and the throttle with the right. You then release the parking brake as you launch."

This is a load of crap

Maybe the starting line is on a 23 degree incline

Maybe the technique has changed in the 8 months since this thread was posted - thanks for bringing it back from the dead just to let us know what you thought of it though...

thats a good way of preloading the drivetrain. Ive used it on launching on the street. Never been to a drag strip myself however. Planning on it!

no it's not, I use the e-brake everytime I launch. My drag strip isn't exactly flat and you will roll backwards if you don't use it.

Ha the drag strip by me is horrible, if you dont hold the e brake you either roll forward or backward depending where your wheel is. What a pos track.
