Default VQ35DET...This is SWEET!

Thought about doing this yesterday and knocked it out today. I had a vinyl decal made @2 years ago of the same vinyl that was placed on my engine cover. It held up to the heat wth no problems. I am hoping this decal will as well. I will let you all know!

Not sure if any one has done this yet but it is definitely a little detail that helps out us show car types. Plus, it represents and describes what is under the hood. Bad thing about it is the countless amount of times i will be asked "What does VQ35DET mean?" while at shows/events and elsewhere. Oh well, great icebreaker!

Just thought I'd post this in the FI forum as an Idea to all you FI guys with the Kinetix SSV.

Very clean engine, i like the subtle look and think that the VQ35DET would look better in a different color. But its an awesome idea.

Ya, I thought about another color but red is not one i would use, blue might be overdoing it plus, it would not stand out as much, so white was the color i went with. It goes with the exterior color plus, like i wrote earlier, it stands out much better.

thanks for the comment

How about painting the cover Blue and using Red Vinyl to match the color scheme in your engine bay ?

red is not part of my scheme though. there is red in my engine because that is the only way the parts came (FPR and Engine Dampner). I don't want to take off the valve covers anytime soon. about the valve covers, it might look sweet painted anodized blue but i'm trying not to overdo it, blue valve covers might be a bit much.

Thanks for the comment!

I LOVE my Kinetix! Performance wise i can't say right now. i have done injectors, plugs, UTEC, AAM return fuel system recently but i have not tuned (stock map w/scaled injectors). i put the SSV on this past Sunday. Once i tune i could say more. It does have a nice sound to it and looks AMAZING!

Without something to offset, anodizing them blue would probably be too much. How about chrome letters ?

Cool

That looks pretty cool...only imagine if they make actual metal decals that could stick to the valve cover..... like that of the fairlady decal but written as VQ35DET or TT.... that would be even hotter. someone creates a mold and then next thing you know you have somehting that everyone could have.... you let people start throwing stickers there or painting and this an that then you will start seeing some seriously crappy work...we all know how some people take it way outta hand.....

...just an idea...

yep, that is my plan for the near future. once i get my credit card situation straight. i canceled my card due to the performancenissanparts situation and my bank is taking forever to get me a new one. i already know what i want, it is just a matter of ordering the chrome letters. For now, i am happy. i might even decide to stay with the vinyl.

you are right, we will probably see someone put the fairladyZ emblem on there now. that would not look good at all. i know of some place to get whatever chrome letters you want. it would cost me like $20 for the letters plus shipping. will order soon!

Sorry, wasn't intended as a suggestion towards you. More as a general suggestion towards people with Nismo cams that wanted to do something similar...
