Question Better air filters for greddy tt? Has anybody done this?

Just curious, does anybody know what aftermarket air filters will fit with the greddy tt kit? The greddy air filters are horrible, I need to upgrade to some quality air filters, I figured some of you have probably done this already..

any brands, part numbers, PICS?????? (I assume because of the tight clearances in the engine bay, certain flilters won't work?)

Thanks

K&N supposedly makes one. Do a search for "greddy mushroom of death", or something like that. I remember seeing that thread but didn't read it because i don't have that kit

My greddy kit was missing the damn airinx filter! I got an AEM (K&N) filter in place of it. Was pissed! Dunno if it made a difference tho.

We tried putting the K&N filters but only the passenger side would fit.

There's much less space on my driver's side

I thought about maybe cutting the intake pipe to make it fit but didn't go through with it.

I guess I could go with smaller filters but not for now.

Yes, those are the same ones I have and had problems with the driver side.

But that's on a G35.

Have you tried installing this? With a 2 inch flange, and a 5 inch length, its going to be a tight fit. I have another set on order, because the original set I ordered were a 3 inch inlet. Needs to be 2 3/4 inch.

Once I finally confirm that my part fits, I will post up the PN.

I am building a new setup shortly... as soon as my block is back from the machine shop (week or two???) I will be putting it all together. I might have a decent setup that you guys could duplicate with a little cutting and a couple mandral pipes and couplers... we will see how it goes.

If anyone has tried ordering K&N filters from their catalog (no pics), you will share my frustration. I ordered two different styles of filters, on two different occasions, and they were both so horribly wrong, it wasnt even funny. I returned them.

Anyways, there is another filter I can order, that SHOULD fit perfectly. It is the Vortech SC filter that K&N makes. My only concern with this filter, is that its very short, and it might reduce airflow. I am almost tempted to go back to the Greddy foam filters...$50 or less for the pair. I actually prefer the look of the Greddy foam filter.
