It is hard to let it go out of my hand. Myabe I should just let my wife get it for a birthday present for me this way I wont feel so bad. Good luck and PM me on how the car feels. I am letting Nissan install mine once I decide which route I am going to go.
Don't believe what salesmen tell you. I highly doubt you will get 325 with stage 2. You would be lucky to get 300.

I HIGHLY doubt it takes 14 hours to install that S/C kit, theres nothing to it. Thats longer than it took me to install my first turbo kit in my garage taking my time going very slow, and theres many more pieces in that install. I would have guessed under 10 hours for a Stillen install, especially a shop/dealer.

they charged you 14 hours labor thats nuts, you got ripped off by them.i installed the stage 1 kit in about 8-9 hours taking a ton of breaks.then installed stage 2 kit later in about 3 hours again taking a few beer breaks.if i worked straight thru for the whole stage 2 kit it would be no more than 9 hours at most and i havent turned wrenches for 20+ years.btw you wont get 325 whp out of the stillen on stage 2.you possibly will with stage 3 and def with stage 4.

I had the stage III kit installed. within 20,000 miles, the engine was toast....
Had a brand new factory engine put in, within 13,000 miles, toast again.
I have seen numerous Zs advertised with Stillen supercharger on them and most of them say "new engine" hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....interesting...

I finally sold the car for 15K.

Biggest mistake I made was installing Stillen supercharger.
1st engine toast after 20,000 miles. New engine lasted 13,000....
I didnt drive it hard either......

Alberto.... Stillen says its a 12 hour install. As you know shops don't charge by actual hours . It just a contract price. The install now includes moving the CAI back, moving the overflow can, removing the bypass valve, _replacing_ the blower twice!, replacing the pulley, and replacing the belts. Oh, and it also includes doing some other stuff like installing the grill. Its sort of an all inclusive price until both the mechanic and I are satisfied regardless of how many actual hours he puts in. So looking at it from that perspective, 14 hours seems fair to me.

Stillen may charge you the full 12 hour estimated time for install. 100 per hour. I would check with VRT on an install quote, buy it out of state as well.

I find that hard to believe. This supercharger is a little undersized for the vehicle so it's not likely thats what blew your motor. Maybe your intercooler bump blew, or the piggyback ecu wasnt installed properly. There are guys running with thousands of miles no problem. It just seems odd that you blew two motors, it's def something related to the installation. I drive my car hard, summer days in florida on Sebring, Moroso, and a at least 60 laps at homestead speedway. At least 10 of those laps my intercooler pump airolocked and I still kept running the car and no problem whatsoever. Never once any hint of detonation.

OK.. I just got the car back minus the water safety valve and the car is a _lot_ quieter. So I can only assume the car was taking some hot air in through the bypass valve so that I had the worst of both worlds, hot air from the engine bay and a long tube to the CAI. So thanks for the suggestion.

VN_350z... Could you do me a favor and ask them to confirm that the stage 2 is CARB approved for 2005? Funny thing is that I have a 2005, but they only sent a 2003-2004 CARB sticker. The salesman said that the contract was wrong and needed to be re-printed. The contract states that the unit is 2003-2004 CARB approved. Since I only got a 2003-2004 sticker, so now I am starting to wonder.
