Default 3" TD Exhaust w/ Vortech?

I've been looking to get rid of my Stillen exhaust system, I like how it sounds but, I think there might be some gains by going to a 3" td. I like AAM Ti, and APS system. Is it necessary to have x pipe? I have no cats, with resonators, I would go to a larger dia. test pipe also. Do any Vortech dudes have thoughts on this suggestions?

Here is another option

Check out ATPturbo.com . I am running their ATP VES 3" boost actuated cuttout and have it placed on my test pipe. It has a 5psi spring in it so at 5psi it is fully open and you can use a boost controller to raise the opening point or completely shut it off. I get to keep the quiet sound of 2.5" exhasut +the car sounds like a beast when it opens up
