New Video-G35 at Spring Mountain and Willow Springs
Nice videos -
Check out this thread - Remember, it's a track day not a race... Most of those guys in 200K cars are aware of this and wave you bye because they probably just don't have the skill or willingness to push.
When are you going to enter that beast into a real race? Time Attack or something?

No doubt it’s a beast - (didn't I state this already) - but come on, bragging rights on a track day? lol... I can blow by and lap guys on liter bikes on a little 600cc bike all day long at track days… Does that mean I have a liter bike killer? No, it means that 1. I'm a better rider, or 2. Those guys didn't know how to ride, or 3. Maybe they didn't want to push, or 4. Familiarity with the track, or 5. etc...
The only real test is a flat out race, time attack, etc...

Here is a Channel 7 Eye on LA television bit from earlier this year that reviews SpeedVentures, and there is some footage and interview of him and his car:

They also have nice air time for Aaron Bitterman and Doug Hayashi. No coverage for my friend Clint Cheng who got me hooked on this, but probably because after having gotten hooked on the "go fast crackpipe" I have spent so much money on track days the last three+ years on tracktime with SV that Clint is on vacation in the Bahamas with commission money from Aaron!!!
Aaron and John run a nice show with a safety first emphasis that is clean and professional, and they are both very nice guys.
Philthy, Mike B has already taken a couple of first places in time attacks, and that was before he has his rear springs figured out to the proper balance. That can be as much or more a reflection of driver skills and just who happens to be running that day in time attack, but it is against hot cars for sure. That time attack stuff is one way to check them out. Another is HPDE events and lap times, though again you have to get some clear lap time to get good times or else you are held up by slower cars in front. In cars this fast, even in advanced groups it is rare to get a clean shot, and sometimes there are cars that are faster than you are and for safety and proper protocol you have to let them by, which means you give a significant throttle lift and that slows you down too. But even then you get a lot of comparative input from how you "hang" with other vehicles. When you grind through the twisties of Pahrump's double infield loops, leaving Spec Miatas behind and clawing up on Honda S2k's, you know that stuff is working on your car because those other vehicles are icons of performance. And when you gun it side by side with a lambo or Z06 at the front of a straight and pull on them BEFORE they point by and lift.....stuff is working. And of course there is the balance with how the car performs as a street vehicle which is important in this concept. If it is a bone rattler on the highway, or breaks down a lot, it should cost "points".
The car is a compromise between street luxury and track performance, tweaked for each owner to the balance they want, or think they want. This is the first real "campaign" year for the car. We need to see how they make it through the driving season and demonstrate their performance over time, like the extended driving review in the magazines...the classic "you love it now, but can you live with it over time" review. During that period, as more cars are released to owners around the country, more experiences on and off the track will be reported, and attributes that are both positive and negative will be revealed with greater clarity and accuracy. And changes and tweaks to the set up will undoubtedly be made. A clean example is the run Mike A made using my suspension, wheels, tires and front A arms, which were different than what he had been using as his "favorite" approach. There are some aspects that he likes and may incorporate in appropriate circumstances, one of which is that one can run a 10.5 inch wide Enkei NT03+M rim on the rear with a Nitto NT-01 315/30/18 tire (and 3mm spacer)...(please note that the Nitto puts down an actual treadwidth of 323mm on that 315 rated rubber)...with just a modest amount of trim or inner well rolling that does not impact the outer body at all, to ensure clearance under hard compression of the suspension in cornering, and that extra really gives some opportunity for more aggressive corner exit. It was that aspect that Mike A was demonstrating so clearly with the views of exit on Turn 9. That Turn 9 exit, which is a high speed diminishing radius sweeper leading to the front straight, is quite dangerous for its proclivity to throw the car and driver off the track edge on the left. Throttle lift adhesion loss to the rear is virtually guaranteed...and at 90+mph going sideways off is a very frightening concept there. But it also means that as one is coming into the straight the car is accelerating off the apex and the "pull" is coming at over 100mph! The pucker factor as you drift to the left edge is certainly real for me.
I think over the next few months that VRT is going to find some more driver/owners from the east coast who like to frequent the great tracks out there, like Watkins Glen and Lime Rock, VIR, Road Atlanta, etc., as well as some in the midwest who will run Road America, Gingerman, Autobahn and Mid Ohio. With the advent of a couple of other quality installers for the JWT/TT it makes access to somebody locally for trouble shooting and tuning more feasible, and less necessary for customer service to have to pack your mechanic on a plane cross country to satisfy a customer need. As that gradually occurs there will be more opportunities for you to find a ride with somebody much closer to home. Apart from the fact that seeing numbers is one thing, and seeing video is a step up from the stats, (and both have now been done) there are now two more steps to go. The first is to get a ride for the "feeling is believing"....since you are now past the reading and seeing is believing phases. And the second is the "driving is knowing".....because if you aren't piloting the critter you can't really know. I am not sure how you will get to the last part of this four part drama, because apart from Mike and Scott, even if you were my brother I would not let you get behind the wheel of my car. And I doubt anybody else would either. Not out of any enmity to you, it is just contrary to common sense to toss the keys to anyone that you do not have tremendous experience with to take your car out on a track and push limits). So you may never know........unless you buy one.
But if you get out to California/Nevada, I will certainly be more than pleased to get you past the third step!
Cheers.

Thanks but no thanks - I'll keep my cars... If I want a mild engine build with a JWT kit I would have done that and called it a day a lone time ago...
The dynos are surround by much speculation, and the track day vids are just funny and don't prove anything besides some guy in a Ferrari or a GT waived you bye? OK, does that mean you can beat every Ferrari or GT? Were they even racing you or just having a bit of fun at a local track day???
What's the next 'real' race or time attack VRT will be attending?

BTW, I will turn the boost up to 20 PSI on the Roval straights and Bank (700+ WHP) and then switch back to around 14 PSI on the infield. Should be very interesting and Extremely Dangerous...LOL
Eagle your written communication skills are awesome - write so Well...You must be really smart or something?
