I don't think I've seen anyone do a Stillen w/ the Vortech. Any particular reason you want to go with that? There are other options to consider...

I called up Z car Garage and their oil cooler kit they only sell when they do the install since each install is a somewhat custom job. They want to make sure it works the way they want it to.

I've been thinking of piecemealing together some setrab cooler parts and lines etc, but still am not sure. It'd be so much easier to just buy a kit that already has everything you need where you can just make it work one way or another

Well 350steve posted a parts list of what he used on his car. It is a nice setup and I'm sure will be less than most quality kits out there. I just didn't want to spend time trying to piece it all together. But if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, his way is DEFINITELY the way to go.

350steve? when I search under that name it says that's not a valid user name.

Are you talking about Chebosto's thread?

Sorry, I wrote his name wrong. It's 350Zteve and the thread is at https://my350z.com/forum/engine-drivetrain-and-forced-induction-diy/180407-oil-cooler-install.html

The Vortech comes with a sandwich to send oil to the SC . How do you incorperate a cooler ? Do you send it thru the cooler then to the SC ?

I thought you put the sandwich right next to the vortech's sandwich?

The Vortech doesn't come with a sandwich, it only comes with a tee that you use from the oil pressure sensor. You will still be able to use the sandwich that comes with the Stillen with no issues.

I was about to order the Stiller oil cooler with thier SC but changed my mind. It took almost four days for them to get the oil cooler parts together which seemed strange to me. DO I really need the oil cooler with thier supercharger.

Stillen has the oil cooler on backorder at the moment from what I know as of yesterday. Not sure why you think it strange about them having to get parts together. Since they don't actually manufacture any of it, they would have to order parts from outside vendors to make the assemblies.

Do you NEED it? Probably not. But, it is a good insurance item since the s/c will definitely raise oil temps.
