My car is FINALLY in the shop for the Vortech install. Once the shop got to the ECU, the wiring does not match the diagram that comes with the Vortech kit. I went by the shop and we searched for the CAM1 and CAM2 sensors, they are not in their pin 14 and 33 spots like they should be. The CRANK sensor wire was not in its place either, but we found it by color code two pins down.

Anyone know if there is more than one version of the ECU diagram or harness? I went by the dealer and they reluctantly looked up the harness on their computer and it is exactly what Vortech sent. Vortech said there was a "limited edition" of the 2003 that apparently had a different harness, I have no idea. I just know the wires are not in their spots, and just pulling a wire by color scares the hell out of me. Any ideas?

I wouldnt do it by color . See if you can get a dealer to print the ECU pin out for your car

 

The more I think about this, the installer was working with the wiring harness in the engine compartment; not in the passenger compartment where I think the wires should be worked with - at the ECU.

Never by colour. the Euro model has completely different colouring to US models but (and Phunk checked this for me based ona Euro wiring diagram) the pins are wired the same and the Vortech hooked-up fine (cut and splice CAS, 2xCAM and MAF)
