550whp on a vortech is theoritical at this point. It involves replacing the blower and intercooler and a built engine and some sort of custom pulley/belt setup

7) Upgrade Belt-Gates 93"
8) 550c Injectors-Rc
9) Walbro Fuel Pump 255
10) SS box
11) One Step Clolder Spark Plugs. Gapped to?
12) JWT oil Pan spacer

I'm not sure the size, but the full kit comes with the walbro fuel pump. SS box also included, but maybe you are just listing to show people what you have. I think you can do all of this for under 10K now (not including cams). good luck. Mine still sounds like a p.o.s. at idle.

Well I went to talk to a owner of a tuner shop and looked at a used G35 Vortech full kit. The kit was in great condition and everything seems to be complete. He told me that the kit should bolt right up with no mods to the kit.

He also told me to skip the fuel system and go with the Vortech fuel system and stock injectors. He said the stock injectors could handle over 400whp and be safe. IS THIS TRUE?

He suggested a boost, water temp, and oil temp gauges and an oil cooler.

He is really pushing JWT cams (I am getting) but I would think that I should also change the injectors to 550cc. What should I do? I wanna run the 3.12 pulley.

Do you know how many miles on the S/C? 550 Injectors seem like an overkill with the 3.12 pulley+ cams.. Also I would suggest a fuel gauge...If you go oil cooler consider replacing it's gauge with fuel..

my 440 injectors were maxed out on my car with cams etc. Wasn't until I went to 550's that I had headroom for A/F tuning above 5500 rpms - that was with the 3.12 pulley

with the 2.87 pulley, I apparently am needing 650 injectors

guys running the 2.87 pulley without cams run with the 550 injectors at 12 lbs of boost.

My car is running a hair over 9 lbs of boost with the 2.87 pulley. I think cams do a lot more than people give credit for - especially the JWT where they breath better up high

Yes you can run the vortech kit and get 400whp. I would recommend you get an air fuel gauge and keep an eye on things.
Now to get 400whp safely 440 injectors with an upgraded pump and return line is a nice idea. I just don’t like the idea of depending on the stock injectors to run at max all the time. But that’s just me! Also by having an upgraded fuel system you can change the pulley size without concern. Just re tune your car. Right now I am running an 11lb pulley with a waste gate set at 9lbs wastage to get more torque at lower rpms.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your kit.
60k miles are running on my vortech kit

I would suggest getting the full used kit [ cheaper ] . Run it for a while with the 3.12 pulley ...tuned of course . Then , if you deside to go to the 2.87 you can add the bigger injectors and the fuel system and in tank pump .
You'll extra cash for tuning , gauges of your choice . Changing every thing at once can cause alot of hassle if you have problems . It's tough to find the problem when you have change so much at once

Can you run the 3.12 pulley w/ the stock injectors and fuel pump? Or should you go to 440's or at least to 380's if you go to the 3.12?

What about the belt? Do you need a different belt going to the 3.12?

You can run the 3.12 with the stock pump and injectors because I did for over a year and yes you do need a new belt for the 3.12 pulley.

Well tommorow I head off to buy the used Polished Vortech Full kit and Nismo Headers along with a set of cams. At this time I will not be adding injectors or a fuel return system. I am buying this kit from a reputable shop and I was wondering if you guys have any input. The kit has about 9000 miles on it I was told and that it came off of a G35. Should the kit bolt right up with no mods? Do you think I will have to order any seals or things from Vortech that are not re-usable? I also hope he has the directions and a few hints. Someone really needs to do a Complete Vortech DIY and one for Cams. Peace and wish me luck.
